...Good Morning Church! Covenant Members, would you join me in welcoming all of our first time and returning guests? ( energetic applause) So good to see all of you and to be here. I hope you have been made to feel welcome today. This church is about walking out this life together in the RADICAL GRACE of JESUS CHRIST. It’s our heart that here a Concord, that you are made to feel “Know, Loved, and that you Belong.” Scripture tells us:‌
(ESV) but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
That means you don’t have to get it all figured out before you come. You come and we figure it out together. Whatever season you are in, we know the struggles of this sinful world…but we also know that our God is bigger than our circumstances.
guest connection:
Keep it upbeatAlso, for our Guests we want to connect with you! With that said, I hope you received a program this morning you’ll notice in that program there’s more info about who we are and what we offer as a church. There you will find information about various ministries for the whole family. Also inside the program, along with the insert, there is a connect envelope. Later on in our service we will worship through a time of offering together. During this offering time we will give all of you a moment to fill out the connect envelopes (and they also serve as a place you can give any money or financial gift that you would offer to the Lord). During that time you will have an opportunity to connect and give and it’s really simple. Joe, our lead pastor will walk you through the steps. We desire to connect with you and help you get plugged in.
covenant connection:
Now Covenant Members, if you will grab the insert inside your program and take it out, it is promoting some awesome things that we want to highlight so please take a look at that and see how you can get plugged in the various ministry opportunities we have.
Coming soon...

Call to Worship || Preparatory Prayer and Reading of Scripture

Ask Congregation to stand
Lead them in an intentional prayer to focus our hearts and minds on how the Holy Spirit would move within in us today...
Scripture: Read SLOWLY—establish a good rhythm for followers
Ask them to read this with you lead them, (together).
ESV9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! 11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! 13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. 16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Hebrews 4:14–16 ESV
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Cole, immediately start playing the worship song as you take over

Scripture Reading || Covenant Member || Stephanee Brantley

says:
Good morning church, and guests. Welcome to Concord. My name is, Stephanee Brantley. I serve Concord alongside my husband, Joe, as we seek God’s will, to faithfully serve Him and to lead His church here at Concord.
Concord has played a major part in our Spiritual journey for the past 12 years (with a two year hiatus at the beach—God was in that too). Our children grew up in this church as Joe and I did too. The truth is, we are all still growing.
I never saw myself as a pastor’s wife and I certainly never expected Joe to become a pastor. But God’s patience, steadfast love. and radical grace is abounding as it is overwhelming.
God has literally used this church, his people, this body of believers, you, who faithfully link arms with us, to grow and continue to shine a light in this community proclaiming that promises of this world are hurtful and shameful lies, but the promises of God are completely and absolutely true.
My family and I are extremely excited to share the good news of Jesus and how at Concord our vision and mission make Him known in this community.
This is our Mission here at Concord:
We exist to connect people through loving community as we introduce them to Jesus and help them follow Him.
This morning I have the honor of sharing God’s Word with you.
Only mention the first verse so people won’t read ahead
This morning we’ll be reading from the book of our Title series, the Gospel of John, chapter 1, starting in verse 1.
If you are joining us this morning and you do not have a Bible, you should see a White Paperback one lying around under your seats, feel free to use that one. And if you don’t own a Bible, consider that our free gift to you.
We will even provide you with the page number on the screen to help you find our texts throughout our worship service.
take a moment and a nice slow breath — count to 3 in your head — then READ: Book, Chapter, Verse, then Scriptures.
John 1:
John 1:1–18 ESV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’ ”) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
Say:
This is the Word of the Lord.

Sermon || lead pastor || Joe Brantley

Introduction
Good morning Church!
We are going to continue in our study of the Gospel of John, where in Chapter One, we continue to read and re-read each week the first 18 verses, but specifically what we see, outside of some beautiful truth; some beautiful language; but something that we’ve described is what literary minds (not Apostles or fisherman), but authors…they would call it a prologue.
Gospel of John where Chapter One
So a prologue introduces themes up front and then takes the rest of the pages to unpack those themes and explain them.
One of the major themes of John’s Gospel is our failure to realize what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in terms of the Law—or our relationship with the Law.
There are really 2 major cause of this “failure” in not realizing the blessing of the Christian Gospel.
The first cause is that WE have an inadequate view of the Law. We lack the proper vision to appreciate Christ’s finished work. It’s like we are trying to read the Scriptures or visualize Jesus’ sacrifice through a filthy wind-shield. We just can’t see it properly in order to appreciate it.
The second cause is that WE use an improper measurement to gauge why God shows us mercy (grace) rather than what we actually deserve (death)
So having an inadequate view of God’s law and by using an improper measurement to gauge God’s graciousness towards us, causes our view to be out of order!
So look right at me… 2 major causes for this “failure” in realizing God’s gift of salvation through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. And what we are going to unpack today is how these failures cause us to get the two most important things about God’s Law out of order (we will come back to that).
John 1:17 ESV
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Here’s were we are living for the next couple weeks (as we continue to wrap our heads around this idea of why the Law is still important—when most would say “we don’t live under the law—we live under grace…) and because a lot of well meaning, good people say that…is the very reason why we are going to ground and pound every possible angle of truth that John is giving us in this incredible Gospel account. Because John was not trying to dismiss the Law, we’ve said that, he was trying to show you how the Law and Grace intersect at the cross of Christ and it’s in Christ where we as hard-headed, dense, forgetful people...
So here’s where we are living…listen up...
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
repeat—pause—repeat(Order is going to be our focus this week…and we’ll get to understanding the salvation piece next week)
(Order is going to be our focus this week…and we’ll get to understanding the salvation piece next week)
repeat—pause—repeat
(Order is going to be our focus this week…and we’ll get to understanding the salvation piece next week)
(Order is going to be our focus this week…and we’ll get to understanding the salvation piece next week)
WHY...
are we in a constant state of crisis?
are the nations and society in such a volatile state?
What is the cause of all of this?
The Cause is...
Our failure to understand truth concerning God’s law—Not just in theory; but practically—not just for Xians; but for non-Xians.
Correct understanding is vital to One’s WHOLE LIFE whether Xian or non-Xian.
Why is that important or VITAL?
It comes down to What is the real function of God’s Law?
Why is a preliminary law-work always essential in the matter of salvation?
Why must Moses always come before the Lord Jesus Christ?
Moses is historically connected to the Law...
-but he didn’t write it…he didn’t connect any dots or tie up any loose ends...
HE SIMPLY RECEIVED IT!!!! from God.
John 1:17 ESV
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1
So why couldn’t God just bypass Moses and go straight to JC? It is God’s law after-all…but, why would God even give His law to a jacked up race of people, who can’t see it’s purpose or understand how to measure the purpose of it’s goodness in our lives?
The answer is given in the very Law itself…specifically the Ten Commandments.
Let me remind you that (a) we are missing something fundamental and (b) there are 2 parts that make up the whole of the truth. Order is everything. We are creatures of Chaos (enter sin and rebellion), yet we were created by a God of Order.
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
So before we breakdown this “order” because the fundamental order that we are missing is found in the framework of the Ten Commandments.
So before we breakdown this “order,” we first must understand that the fundamental order that we are missing is found in the framework of the Ten Commandments.
So track with me…The Emphasis we miss is not just in the TEN LAWS themselves, but actively reveals itself in it’s framework.
The Ten Commandments were given in TWO TABLES (not 2 tablets)… and there is an obvious difference between them.
The First Table
Let’s go to the Scriptures.... Exodus, chapter 20
Exodus 20
Exodus 20:1–11 ESV
1 And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before me. 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
The first table is made up of 4 of the 10 Commandments…notice the common thread that places these four on the same table… so let’s pull the verse’s as the apply to the numerical commandment
“And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Notice the FIRST TABLE all deal with how WE (humanity) deal or respond to GOD.
Exodus 20:12–17 ESV
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 13 “You shall not murder. 14 “You shall not commit adultery. 15 “You shall not steal. 16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
The Second Table ( is how WE or humanity deal or respond to each other.)
Ex 20:
The Second Table
ex 20:
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.
Within the First Table we see first 4 (the LAW) is concerning God
The Second Table (the last 6) of the Law is concerning man.
There is an order within in the tablesGod is a God of Order.
There is an order within in the tables…God is a God of Order.
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
We can see the order unveiled so easy in the words of Jesus…Jesus just says it plain…bam! There it is…and it pops…if you’re vision is right. If you are measuring justice and judgement and grace correctly.
I want you to see what I mean. Turn to ...
Let me give you some context… X is responding to a question asked by a young scribe...
Matthew 22:36–39 ESV
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
V. 37 sums up the FIRST TABLE and v.38 confirms it. It shows us the ORDER...
—vv.37-38 GOD FIRST!!! Love him FIRST! With everything you have (heart soul mind) FIRST!!! IT’s GREAT and it’s the FIRST (THE MOST IMPORTANT) Commandment!!!
—v.39 The SECOND TABLE is LIKE it (a type of it)—but if you can’t do the FIRST there’s no way you can do the SECOND.
WHY????
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
Why Moses? Why give the Law to a jacked up race of ppl? Why does it matter? Why is it vital? Why?
The answer is given in the very Law itself…s the Ten Commandments.
LOVE GOD FIRST!!! And then out of that love…love each other.
But the problem is the FIRST TABLE IS FORGOTTEN!
The hard-headed modern man and woman doesn’t have time for that! They don’t have time to figure out Spiritual “ORDERS.” We don’t take orders. We give orders. We don’t have time for theoretical ideas, teaching and what not…we don’t have time for DOCTRINE, DOGMA, and THEOLOGY…are you kidding me. We don’t have time for that.
Don’t you know who we are? We are the greatest people that ever lived, in the greatest country that ever existed, we have the things others dream of. We’ve got jobs, we are important, WE ARE BUSY!
WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR SPIRITUAL THINGS. If you care Christian, then help me by giving me something practical, something easy, I need drive-thru theology…I don’t have time to sit and listen to so body teach about the Bible. I’ve goals, I’ve got dreams to make happen, I’ve got people to crush, I’ve got a kingdom of my own to build…so if you want to reach me Christian, give me a God that’s cool with how I’m rolling, Not a God with rules to follow. I’m not following anybody…ppl are following me…I matter, Do you know how many friends I have on FB? I want practical help on how to make my struggles better not to hear about how life is a struggle. I’m over that. I’m headed for the next level…If you want to help me Christian, you and your God better get on my level. I want and I need useful, practical advice on how to be successful in life, get rich, and work hard so I can play hard. But I don’t have time to come to church in the morning, Don’t you know i need rest. Sunday is MY SABBATH. I’m resting. Give me a service a little later in the day, and I might show up. Meet all my needs, make it easy for me and make ME FEEL GOOD!
Look at me! How can we begin to understand why we are failing if we are to busy to stop failing? It’s what we are good at!
We must REMEMBER GOD IS A GOD OF ORDER! And we can’t forget His Order. His Law.
We must understand the purpose of the law and it’s function! The first table points us to God…let me break it down like this.
God first of all gives us the REVELATION of HIMSELF
Exodus 20:2 ESV
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Exodus 20:1 ESV
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
He shined the Light on Himself so we would see WHO HE IS, So....get ready…so that we may see ourselves IN HIS LIGHT and IN HIS SIGHT; That’s What He does in the The FIRST TABLE OF THE LAW…then in The Second Table He proceeds to tell us the truth about ourselves!!!
OUR GREATEST NEED IS TO THE KNOW THE TRUTH! TRUTH IN THE PROPER ORDER. GOD’S ORDER.
God First…us Second.
So in essence what I’m telling you our greatest need, whether we consider ourself saint or skeptic, is to be introduced (or re-introduced) to the TEN COMMANDMENTS…in the right ORDER!
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
He is the God who...
Exodus 14:8 ESV
8 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the people of Israel while the people of Israel were going out defiantly.
The world needs to REMEMBER that God is The God Almighty!
Ps 99
Psalm 99:1 ESV
1 The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
Leviticus 11:45 ESV
45 For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
What does that mean? To be Holy? What is Holiness? We don’t know because it is beyond us!
1 John 1:5 ESV
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
We need to be reminded above all that He is holy!
James 1:13 ESV
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
James
Heb 12:
Hebrews 12:29 ESV
29 for our God is a consuming fire.
No evil, no sin, nothing unworthy can come near Him. God is everlasting; Holy; eternal purity. We can’t even… We speak so haphazzardly and disrespectfully about God. We don’t realize He is a holy God who hates sin and evil and all that belongs to that realm.
Yet then we are Reminded that God demands our worship!
We need to be REMINDED what He requires of us...
Ex
Exodus 20:3 ESV
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
WE need to be reminded He requires Total Allegiance…There is NO OTHER god!
Exodus 20:5 ESV
5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
Exodus 20:4 ESV
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Exodus 20:5 ESV
5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
Ex 20:
Exodus 20:7 ESV
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
The world lies…their is no other gods. We worship the creation instead of the Creator; the One who made us in His image.
Psalm 115:5 ESV
5 They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see.
Psalm 115:7 ESV
7 They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat.
None of the things men and women are worshipping today can help them! Anyone been hurt by something or someone you are giving your worship too lately…it will happen, because those things; those people have no power to sustain us. God does not tolerate them. God is a jealous God in the sense that He alone is God and there is no one beside Him.
Jesus was making a compelling point in answering the scribe who came with the clever question of which commandment was the greatest. This was your clever ‘modern man’ trying to trip up our Lord. There were some 614 distinct points in the law and the scribe said, “Which is the greatest of all the commandments?” He was a scribe he was a professional arguer of all the laws…this was a trap to trample the credibility in which Jesus was gaining from the people; He was gaining their belief; awakening them to truth…the real truth.
And Jesus said...
Mark 12:29–30 ESV
29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
Mark 12:28–30 ESV
28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
Not just a little bit but with the whole. with all you heart, soul, mind and strength. ALL.
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
Mark 12:28
See it’s not the 614 things of the law, it’s not the minutiae details that matter, it is YOUR TOTAL relationship with God!
See it’s not the 614 things of the law, it’s not the minutiae details that matter, it is YOUR TOTAL relationship with God!
You must love Him with everything; your whole being. He made you. He owns you. Your life and your eternity are in His hands. He wants the totality of your personality, he the whole you—nothing less.
God is a jealous God. Your problem may not be worshipping a statue or a idol with candles lit around it. Your problem is when you get His order twisted. When you turn the table of the law that He created. When you put yourself first and then, when you are in trouble, you run to Him and give Him just a portion, the dregs, the leftovers, the backwash of your life.
It doesn’t work. Because everyone believes in God when they are in a foxhole and life is lobbing bombs down around them. They want to run to Him then but they don’t understand. They do not know the truth about God. how could they possibly understand the truth about themselves??? The need the medicine of God’s law. They need to read the Ten Commandments again.
And on top of all that they (we) must Remember God is righteous; He is Just and He alone will JUDGE!
Here’s practical theology anybody can get behind, just turn on the news… God is judging the world at this present hour. Why do you think the evils and the uneasiness of this place, create such a tension…wars, destruction, storms raging (creation raging)…btw don’t blame it on “mother nature” bc she’s a lie; a myth, no power. It’s Father God and His judgment; His holy, righteous judgement on sin is His wrath. He punishes in this life.
But, it’s more vital for us to realize that there is to be a judgment and a punishment at the end of it all. God made the world, he set to going, and He will bring it to an end. And the world WILL COME TO AN END in an act of judgment. And what will He judge the world by? By their relationship with Him (or lack there of). If there is no relationship there is only condemnation.
But praise God for His element of mercy present in the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 20:6 ESV
6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Listen to me…IF we obey Him, IF we listen to His voice, IF we respond to His appeal, there IS mercy, abundant mercy. The God who gave the law sent His only Son “full of grace and truth.” But REMEMBER, His mercy is for those who love him and keep his commandments. That means you have to have the ORDER right; you have to get it.
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
This is what I believe and take comfort in by the Scriptures…God has a purpose for the world
Exodus 20:2 ESV
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Exodus 20:3 ESV
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
This means that even though the whole world has sinned against God, God has not abandoned the world. He has a purpose. He has a plan. Just as he took hold of sinful men by the names of Abraham and Moses, this is the nation the sons and the descendants of this Biblically documented sinners, it is through this nation in which He will redeem the whole world. His plan and purpose have order. because He is a God of order.
John 1:17 ESV
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The Good news is that God gave us His law to reveal who He is and what He demands from us. This is the message to our world. Through Jesus the light of all man, He gives sight to the blind. With vision we can see God for who He is and we can also see ourselves for who we are. Because when the light cuts through the dark spaces of your being, and evils that scurry from the fear of exposure. If you know who He is then you know He can see it when others can’t; He can see it even when you can’t. But once you see Him and understand what you were created for you can’t help but see yourself and it’s my prayer that you won’t like what you see and that leads you to repent. That it leads you to take a backseat and put God FIRST, because that’s what His law does....
The function of God’s Law reveals the truth of God; He is THE God of ORDER and salvation.
Because He is working in you and in me bringing about ORDER to His Kingdom, and He is doing it through the perfect person who fulfilled the law we try and forget. He is restoring all things to Himself and it is in Jesus all things hold together.
Here’s the good news of knowing God’s revealed truth through His law...
Habakkuk 2:14 ESV
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Hab
If His grace is an ocean we’re all sinking. And it good to feel the debt of broken order and law sink away to endless bottoms of His everlasting grace. When we see things with correct vision and measure the goodness of God by His truth we find ourselves at a tense place of holding on or letting go. There’s freedom and glory in letting go. When you let go and loosen your grip on what belongs to God anyway. His saving grace; His order; His light replaces tension with adoption.
To know God; to see God; is to be a child of God.
Let’s pray.
