Wedding Vows

WEDDING VOWS

During the wedding rehearsal, the groom approached the pastor with an unusual offer.

"Look, I'll give you $100 if you'll change the wedding vows.

When you get to me and the part where I'm to promise to 'love, honor and obey' and 'forsaking all others, be faithful to her forever,' I'd appreciate it if you'd just leave that part out."

He passed the minister a $100 bill and walked away satisfied.

The next day during the wedding ceremony, the time came for the bride and groom to exchange their vows.

The pastor looked the young man in the eye and said, "Will you promise to prostrate yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed every morning of your life, and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that you will not ever even look at another woman, as long as you both shall live?"

The groom gulped, looked around, and said in a tiny voice, "Yes."

He then leaned toward the pastor and hissed, "I thought we had a deal."

The pastor put the $100 bill into the groom's hand and whispered back, "She made me a much better offer."

Celebrate Recovery

Wasn't last week amazing to hear all the stories of people who have given there lives over to Jesus.

Can you see the joy that people had as they shared how Jesus has touched their lives?

Doesn’t it make you want to hear more or think about people we may know who could see there lives changed?

Personally I was amazed at some of the people who were here, some I knew, but others I did not know.

I was just want to give a shout out and say do it again God! Do it for my friends who are in addiction, do it for the people I know who are lost.

However, I also realize that Jesus has done it.

He told the disciples that he would be giving them “power” and that is what he has done!

Not only did he give them power, but that power was passed down to us as well.

This power is Life-Transforming Power!

The Mystery of Gods Life Transforming Power

There is a mystery to God’s life transforming power!

Paul told us that God’s has mysteries, but those mysteries have been given to us.

We can solve the mystery to life transforming power by looking to the scriptures.

Ephesians 3:

The word power is mentioned here, but there is a stipulation to this power.

What is the stipulation?

According to the power at work within us!

Hmmmmmm.....

So there is a power at work within us, but the life transforming power is limited according to how it is at work within us.

So here is the mystery: How do we activate the life transforming power?

Psalms 133:1-

Unity is a precious as the anointing oil poured over Aarons head.

Why was the anointing oil poured over Aarons head?

The anointing oil poured of his head was God separating Aaron to the the first High Priest.

The anointing oil was Gods ability being put on him to enter the Holy of Holies FOR the Children of Israel?

The Beauty of Unity produces the anointing to empower of us to walk in the life changing power of God.

Its the body walking in the anointing that causes his power to be activated!

The Apostles Unlocked the Mystery

The people fellowshipped and broke bread together.

They were walking in Unity.

While in UNITY the Apostle performed many signs and wonders among them.

This was not a show this was people people being healed, this was people being delivered, communities of people being transformed!

This is Our Pattern to Follow

We must pray together

We must worship together

We must take communion together

We must give of our resources

God’s Invitation is here for us to take!

The mystery of Gods power has been opened to us, this is ours for us to obey.

God is calling us, and it is exciting!
