Introduction
Greetings...
Prayer is the one act of worship, I have never known anyone to feel like they have become “great at.”
Even those I know have a great prayer life, will tell you it is that area they need to work on the most.
I’m not sure why this is the case but we all struggle with this.
This morning we are going to begin diving into prayer by asking the two questions...
What is prayer in the Bible?
Who is heard by God when they pray?
With this in mind let us examine our lesson for today.
Prayer In The Bible Is...
An imploring of God.
A pouring out of the soul.
A lament to heaven.
A supplication to God.
A physical act of reverence toward God.
Summery
Prayer is the child of God’s most important way of building and maintaining a close relationship with God ().
Prayer Is Heard By Those Seeking Righteousness
The sinner’s prayer is never heard by God.
God has never said He would listen to those that refuse to seek righteousness.
God hears the prayers of the righteous.
Now there are plenty of examples of God hearing the lost pray, however in each of those the lost were seeking righteousness and looking for truth.
There are plenty of examples of God hearing the lost pray, however in each of those the lost were seeking righteousness and looking for truth.
The best way to make sure your prayers are heard is to live a righteous life honored to be heard by God.
Acts 10:1-
In righteousness have confidence in your communication with God and know He hears you.
1 Jn
James 1:
Summery
Before you go to God in prayer, make certain you are right with Him and seeking to walk in the light of His righteousness.
No one is perfect without the blood of Christ but with it () we can all pray to our God with a clean soul () and have our prayers heard and answered.
Conclusion
God doesn’t “need” us to pray but He does know “we need” to pray to Him and so if we aren’t praying we are not only missing out in a great blessing but we are missing out in the best way to grow our relationship with God.
