Introduction

As was said on Sunday, “How we look at things is just as important as how we behave while we are going through.”
Most believers see trials and trouble from the eyes of defeat and doubt, instead of faith and victory.
How do you usually respond to trials or setbacks in your life? Why? _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

James is
The first section of the epistel of James seems to focus on how they view the persuction they are currently enduring as a result of their Roman oppression of Christianity.
What are some of the oppression that the readers are experiencing? _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
If a person’s faith is genuine, it will prove itself during times of trouble.
The message is clear, trials are tools of the loving hand of God. They test the strength of our faith; humble us; wean us from our dependence on earthly things; call us to eternal and heavenly hope; reveal what we really love; teach us the value of God’s blessings; develop enduring strength for greater usefulness; help us better encourage others in their time of trail.
Seeing that trials are productive, it is essential for us to respond correctly to them. James helps us by giving his readers 5 means for persevering under trials.
