Intro: I have been working out for going since May.
For the most part it has been a cool journey.
I love working out, and I have learned so much, not only about my body, but its limits, and what I am capable of.
That being said, I have pretty much been working out by myself.
I also steered clear of weights.
dumbells and barbells, squats and pressses, it was all intimidating.
However, this past saturday I got a text from one of the young adults here saying lets go workout.
We spent about 2 hrs in the gym, and we lifted weights, and he taught me a ton.
I have never felt so sore even now!
He challenged me to wake up at 4 am to workout with another guy that knows more, and could teach us and challenge us, and tuesday we did chest day, awesome.
A little sore, but Im here.
Today though..... today was leg day.
Today he taught us proper form, and then pushed us.
He said “Pastor, hoy vamos heavy.”
After my workout I came home and made breakfast.
I ate, and on my way to my room to shower, y’all I passed out!
All day I fought the fatigue, and the tiredness of the workout, I had 0 energy!
I went back and forth thinking, I have to keep going, I can’t slack off, I have things that I am responsible for, people I am responsible for.
I have to feed my kids.
I have to dress them, and care for them.
I have a meeting.
I have to prepare for tonight.
GOD I HAVE NO ENERGY!

Tension: Have you ever felt like you can’t go anymore?
Have you ever felt like you just want to give up?
There comes a time in all of our lives where we see things stacking up against us, and we don’t see a way out, and because we are looking at what’s stacking against us, we quit.
So what do we do when the struggle gets real?
ENDURE: We endure because of who is in us.
()
OCCUPY: We occupy the position that God wants us to be in; the Identity He has given us.
(, )
ENLIST: We enlist in the work of the Lord, knowing that there are lives at stake.
()
I. Endure ()
A. Going back to my story about the gym, today I squatted for the first time.
I didn’t think I would be able to do it, and there was a time where going through it, I wanted to give up, but I had to endure.
Right when I felt as if I were going to collapse, my brothers helped me lift the bar up.
Here’s the truth I want to highlight: If you surround yourself with people committed to standing together, and growing together, Hard work is easy work.
When you get to the weak moments, you hold each other up.
B.
B. Now this almost seems as if it has nothing to do with God.
You have to endure, because it shows that you trust God.
Many times you quit, or give up because you don’t truly know God.
The situation seems so insurmountable that you simply stick to the “I can’t.”
Here’s another truth for you tonight: When you remember who God is, and allow Him to live in and through you, He will do what you can’t.
()
B. God calls us
II.
OCCUPY (, )
A. Now let me submit to you this: It is impossible to endure, if you are not in the right place.
Understand that God’s plan for your life has already been written out.
He has a place for you.
He has a name for you.
Here’s a truth for you: You will never be able to receive what God has promised, if you don’t occupy the position God has designed for you.
Have you ever had a person tell you to do something, and your immediate thought was “umm, who are you?”
only to later find out that they were a teacher, manager, cop, or someone in authority?
Here’s another truth for you: You will never unlock the authority God has given you until you occupy the position and identity God has given you.
III.
ENLIST ()
A. I have a serious case of Jello legs right now.
I want nothing more than to sit in a hot bath and rest.
As I left the house today, my wife said “Hey, you gotta get over it!
If not this feeling will move into the rest of your day!”
It was a wake up call for me.
It was a reminder that I endure, because there are lives at stake.
I know that you depend on whoever stands here to bring a message that ministers to you.
I enlisted in Heaven’s army because I knew that God gave me an identity, and an authority, and there are lives at stake.
No matter what happens, no matter what comes up, I will continue to do whatever is necessary, because there are lives at stake.
Here’s the last truth I will give you today: If you want to please God, you have to share God, because there are lives at stake.
This.
Is. A. Matter.
Of.
Life.
Or.
Death.
Conclusion:
Things look like they’re piling up sometimes, and there seems to be no way out.
Sometimes we go through great pain, and think the only thing we can do is quit.
Tonight God is speaking to you and to your situation.
He is saying ENDURE, OCCUPY, and ENLIST.
He is calling you today.
He wants you to know that in you there is authority, that in you, there is promise, that in you there is power.
But if you don’t have a relationship with God, and find out what He has written out for you, you will never succeed.
