– Did God need Jacob in order to defeat the wicked nations?
No, He did not, but He uses mankind none the less.
For us, He uses our prayers to bind Satan in the lives of individuals.
STRONGHOLDS: “But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”
Who is stronger than God?
3 strongholds to consider: (there are many more, but there is always one KEY stronghold)
· Unbelief
o “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
o We have to live out Christ before others – regardless if they reject and even hurt us.
Remember, they have been blinded by the devil.
· Lust
o The woman from Sychar who had been married 5 times; filled with lust, never satisfied.
o – we have to introduce people to the armor of God.
o Offer Scriptures such at “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
· Bitterness (aka, unforgiveness of self or of others)
o Take the molested child that spends his/her whole life bitter and angry.
o “The heart knoweth his own bitterness;”

Another weapon not mentioned this morning, which also falls into the category of Strategies is:
1. Resistance - resistance to the devil and to his strong holds.
a. – “Stand against the wiles” We stand when we pray!
Two Reasons Salvation Prayers go unanswered:
1. Sin or unbelief in the one praying.
2. Satin is hindering the answer.
(Satan will always be hindering the answer.)
Strategies:
1.
The whole Church must be continually in prayer; there must be unity.
Let’s look closer at what happens when the church stands together in prayer.
a. “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
i.
This is an example unto us of a group of people coming together as a church.
We see the results in (below).
b. “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
c. “Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.”
d. “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
2. How we can accomplish this: Form Prayer Groups
a. SS classes / Bible study groups
b.
Meeting in your home, / Partner Praying
Before we endeavor to work for the Lord let us commune with the Lord and have our own hearts examined, not just by us, but by the Lord as well.
Let’s be sure that it is not us that is hindering the answer to our prayer for salvation.
(The Lord’s Supper)
Commitment:
TRAVELING ON MY KNEES
Last night I took a journey
To a land across the seas.
I didn‟t go by ship or plane –
I traveled on my knees.
I saw so many people there
In bondage to their sin,
And Jesus told me I should go,
That there were souls to win.
But I said, “Jesus, I can‟t go
To lands across the seas.”
He answered quickly, “Yes, you can –
By traveling on your knees.”
He said, “You pray, I‟ll meet the need.
You call, and I will hear.
It‟s up to you to be concerned
For lost souls far and near.”
And so I did, I knelt in prayer,
Gave up some hours of ease,
And with the Savior by my side
I traveled on my knees.
As I prayed on, I saw souls saved
And twisted persons healed.
I saw God‟s workers‟ strength renewed
While laboring on the field.
I said, “Yes, Lord, I‟ll take the job.
Your heart I want to please.
I‟ll heed Your call and swiftly go
By traveling on my knees.”
