Healthy Life

If you have come for a nice little message today, a fluffy pillow for your head, if you've come to make yourself feel better about the things you have done or are thinking about doing then buckle up.
If you have come for a nice little message today, a fluffy pillow for your head, if you've come to make yourself feel better about the things you have done or are thinking about doing then buckle up.
When we come together we come to hear God speak into our lives through whoever is up here, to help us live this life with Him at the centre of it, filled with His Holy Spirit, guided by His Spirit.
The Bible is life changing stuff & living this life is more than a nice feeling & doing good deeds. This life is about a relationship with God the Father through Christ the Son.
Just some things as we get into Chapter 5. We need to be people that stop looking at non Christians & judging them because they are not following your path of living for God. Telling them how they are living their life is wrong, that they shouldn’t dress that way or talk that way or act that way. Our Job is to pick them up, love them, it’s the Holy Spirits job to speak & to challenge them, we gotta stop speaking & let Him speak.
God has a plan for everyone & every Church, but the plan will only become a reality when you or the Church are ready, God won’t give it to you until you can use it correctly.
ok Chapter 5
What was happening here was the church was blind to the sin that was within, yet pointing fingers at the world around it, saying get your lives right. It happens today as well.
I have taught around this before we need to be people of Grace & Jesus talks about it in
Matthew 7:5 ESV
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:5
Nobody is perfect, that doesn’t mean our identity is sinner as was said a few weeks ago, our identity is saint but we sin & not a sinner who is sometimes a saint. The problem is we become a saint & then see everyone else as a sinner. The church at Corinth also had this problem, i said last week that there but for the Grace of God go i. We are quick to judge others but never ourselves.
2 Corinthians 7:1 ESV
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
2 corinthians 7
We should regularly look at ourselves, do a Spiritual check up, what do we believe, does it marry up to the Bible, am i walking with God, am i being continually filled by the Spirit, living by the Spirit guided by the Holy Spirit not my Spirit, why do i do the things i do, is it for my glory or His Glory.
There’s an issue in the church we miss what the Bible says, sometimes it’s because it may challenge us, sometimes because we are not reading it right, not reading it in context.
We can read the first part of this chapter where Paul says cast him out, cast the wrong doer out & so we close the shutters pull up the drawbridge & enter the Holy of Holies never to be seen by the world again. But Paul’s not talking about the world, he’s talking about the church, including us today.
Try & help another Christian who is in need, in error but if they will not turn & are being destructive i doubt if they are a brother or sister anymore. It is better that they are gone as harsh as that sounds, if there is a wolf dressed as a sheep then they will cause division, there will be gossip, dissension all sorts of trouble can come to the church, all sorts of people will get hurt. What do you do when a wolf threatens you shoot it to save the sheep.
If you have a disease in your body & it is harming you, you go to a GP for medicine to kill the disease.
( how does a disease work video)
What causes the disease?
Bacteria. Viruses. Even smaller than bacteria, viruses cause a multitude of diseases.
Bad Theology, Doctrine, not growing in your relationship with Jesus.
How is the disease transmitted?
Infectious diseases are commonly transmitted through direct person-to-person contact. Transmission occurs when an infected person touches or exchanges body fluids with someone else.
Do you allow people who give of all the right signals to you but when they come near leadership cannot.
Do you allow negative people to speak into your life, spread their negativity all around you, if you do you’ll soon be negative & bitter like them.
How do you prevent disease?
Decrease your risk of infecting yourself or others: Wash your hands often. ...Get vaccinated. ...Use antibiotics sensibly. ...Stay at home if you have signs and symptoms of an infection. ...Be smart about food preparation. ...Disinfect the 'hot zones' in your residence. Don't share personal items.
Keep your relationship with God right, be filled with the Holy Spirit, Shut down gossips, negative people.
Keep away from people who want to lead you but cannot be led. they will lead you up a wrong path & out of God’s presence no matter how Spiritual they may seem.
But they know
How can we prevent health problems?, You can choose to: Be a non-smoker and avoid second hand smoke. If you smoke, get help to quit. ...Be physically active everyday. ...Eat healthy foods. ...Achieve a healthy weight. ...Control your blood pressure. ...Limit your intake of alcohol. ...Reduce your stress. ...Be screened or tested regularly.

What is the prevention of disease?
Health promotion and disease prevention programs focus on keeping people healthy. Health promotion programs aim to engage and empower individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviors, and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases and other morbidities.
How do you keep away from diseases?
.
What are levels of prevention?
Primary prevention is concerned with preventing the onset of disease; it aims to reduce the incidence of disease. It involves interventions that are applied before there is any evidence of disease or injury. Examples include protection against the effects of a disease agent, as with vaccination.
Jesus is the cure, intervention whatever term you like to use.
Pray:
These things that Paul deals with in this letter are all things that make the church at Corinth unhealthy, there are people trying to have their way in the church that are not leaders & should be nowhere near leadership, it happens today too, that’s why you hear of people leaving churches & taking half the church with them & it’s all because they didn’t get there way, or people still trying to hold sway in churches that they have left, it’s not right & it won’t work. God sees all things & all people are answerable to God.
Paul is like a GP, he’s making a diagnosis of what’s wrong in the body, he can see the issue & the dangers of it spreading. The prescription is this letter, it’s telling the body what the medicine is. The medicine is Jesus & being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Because of their thinking themselves above everyone else as was said last week they do not notice what has crept in & that can happen when we think we are invincible, that sin can’t touch us. When sin creeps into the body, like sickness it needs to be dealt with or it spreads.
People will see the church acting like the world, like everyone else & so what has the church got to offer that’s any better than they already have, nothing.
Because what they see & hear out there is what they get in here, when what they need is the church that it was meant to be.
The Church in Corinth as a whole was complicitous, it knows what is happening yet shuts it’s eyes to it & lets it go on. That’s why Paul writes in:
1 Corinthians 5:6 ESV
Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
A problem they have is a wrong understanding of what living under Grace is. Grace isn’t i live under Grace so i can get away with it.
Talk about
Continual sin, cheating on wife or husband.
if sin has riddled your body there needs to be intervention, doubt if you have a relationship with Jesus anymore.
Communion.
