Introduction
For the Past three Sundays, since July 29 until, Sunday August 26, two Sundays from today, for 5 Sundays the Church has us read from the Gsopel of John Chapter 6. I think that’ wonderful because this chapter is one of the most power expressions of Jesus telling the World who he really is and how he effects our lives. I often refer my friends to read and contemplate on John Chapter 6 in one sitting a few times. I did in preparation for this homily and invite you all to do the same in the next few weeks.

Body

In John chapter 6 Jesus does the miracle of feeding the 5 thousand with 5 barley loves and two fish, the people don’t realize the miracle that happened right before their eyes. Came back the next day for another free meal, with Moses on their minds, they ask Jesus, show us a sign so we can believe in you. What can you do for us?!
In continuation of the Gospel today Jesus is engaging the crowd on this question and says “I am the Bread that came down from heaven” pardon the expression all hell breaks loose, the people start murmuring about what he said. Jesus said Stop Murmuring among yourselves. You know people are still murmurer about what Jesus says to this day. We murmurer in our hearts and minds on many things we don’t fully see nor understand. Take Elijah in our first reading is running for his life at the hands wicked Queen Jezebel. He thinks he is the last remaining prophet, exhausted fearful in the desert is murmuring against God praying to die. But instead he finds bread from the hand of an angles. Strengthened by the bread Elijah to climbed the mountain of God.
At Mass a miracle happens every day right in before our eyes and non of us see it nor hear it. It is awesome, like all the wonderful miracles of God’s creation that has occured out of sight in the silence of God’s loving heart . A miracle not brought by the hand of an angle but by the Spirit of God always giving himself. Are we willing to open completely
In the Liturgy of the Eucharist at Mass a miracle happens in front our eyes every time and non of us see it. Like all the wonderful miracles of God’s creation that occurs out of sight in the silence of God.
I am the bread of Life. Whoever eats this bread will live forever and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world. Whoever believes has eternal life.

Thus far in the gospel Jesus has fed the 5 thousand with 5 barley loves and two fish, then at the end of the day walked back to Capernaum on the Sea of Galilee. Some of the people who were feed and not realized the miracle that had happened right before their eyes found Jesus in Capernaum the following day telling Jesus, “show us a sign so we can believe in you. What can you do for us?!”

Jesus engaging them on this question; I'm paraphrasing now, says, you saw the signs I did curing the sick, you’r here because you ate the loaves and were filled, and are back for another free meal. Yo are not looking for a sign!. Then Jesus told them “I am the Bread that came down from heaven” whoever eats this bread will never die, that’s what I can do for you. The people started murmuring against him right away, that’s complaining, resisting. Jesus said stop murmuring . You know, people are still murmuring to this day about what Jesus said in John chapter 6. We murmurer against God for things we don’t fully see nor understand or approach him with wrong reasons. That’s OK, God understands our problems. Take Elijah in our first reading, he is running for his life from queen Jezebel. He thinks he is the last remaining prophet of God, exhausted and fearful he is murmuring against God, praying the Lord would end his life! Today’s equivalent of desiring euthanasia! But instead God sends an angle with bread and water for Elijah to eat and be straightened to climbing the mountain of God.

Conclusion
Every day at Mass a miracle happens right before our eyes and none of us see it or hear anything. It’s amazing! Like all the other wonderful miracles of God’s creation that occurred out of sight in the silence of God’s loving heart. A miracle not brought by the hand of an angle but by Jesus giving himself always. Let’s Stop Murmuring and Start believing, the Father is drawing now, let’s come to fullness of faith in The Bread of Life. Bread that give us the life of Christ to strengthen and give courage to climb any mountain, down to any valley. Are we willing to surrender ourselves in faith completely to God? Let’s take Jesus at his word who says “whoever eats this bread lives forever, and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
