A Short Doctrine on the believer’s rest
much the same way as God established the ark upon the mountains of Ararat to rest, the believer today has a rest available to him.
Not physical but spiritual.
The believers rest can be lost.
Heb
Rest in our day to day lives is absent when we aren’t finding rest in the finished work of Christ on an ongoing basis.
Examples of Failure:
Moses
This rest cannot be obtained from men, even spiritual men.
Not from the world, not from our flesh.
These do no provide rest!
Rather it only comes through Jesus Christ on the basis of faith
Christ gives us rest.
Falling out of rest is something that should concern us!
As the ark rested, so we too have been given access into His rest in the storm at any given moment, situation or place.
The only “work” left for us to do today is to enter His rest.
We are to labor every day to enter His rest.
We find rest inwardly when we believe that the work is done because it is a finished work, and trust in God’s undeserved favor toward us.
Like the ark that was brought to rest on the mountains of Ararat, So too, Jesus Christ has rested from his work and offers His rest to anyone that has come and will take on his yoke.
Let’s enjoy sitting together with Christ in the heavenly places, then we will run and not be weary!
Let’s enjoy sitting together with Christ in the heavenly places, then we will run and not be weary!
)
How well we walk enjoying His peace depends on how well we sit and rest in the finished work of Christ.
