What’s Next?

Matthew 24:9–13 NKJV
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
As we continue through Matthew 24 the writer warns us of the circumstances tht will face the Christian Community
“will deliver you” “to tribulation”
The words here denote bring one into a state , to force or compel
The world is currently engaged in a war against the Church - we see the beginning of lawlessness taking hold in our communities and countries
Interestingly enough it is spoken in Eph
Ephesians 4:17–19 NKJV
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
It is the basis of the word “lewdness” living by the desires of the flesh!
Romans 1:24–25 NKJV
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Uncleanness - a condition brought about by the lust of their hearts to dishonor their bodies
Romans 6:18 NKJV
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Here we find the Christian has been “set free” a condition brought about by freedom from sin
Galatians 1:3–4 NKJV
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
In Romans 1 we saw that the exchanged the truth of God for a lie
What is the truth of God that the world seeks to pervert? His Love
If God is Love then why?
First we must know that we cannot truly understand God’s love
We know physical love - selfish in origin
We know affectionate love - Emotional gain
But both are centered in the benefits we receive int he relationship
Giving love is Spiritual love - Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 NKJV
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
God’s love is patient - waiting for man to respond
Which leads us to His mercy - God is merciful
Mercy is not getting what we deserve - God judge them, I want to see God’s judgement fall on them! Really? what about your sin
In his mercy then we have received forgiveness for our transgressions
That takes us to His Graciousness - What we don’t deserve!
Patience is the dam holding back the judgement of God but....
2 Thessalonians 3:5 NKJV
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.
We are called into patience through God’s love
Yes all of the sin of mankind was paid for by Christ but not all of mankind will accept it!
2 Thessalonians 2:9–12 NKJV
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
It is the pleasure of unrighteousness and rejection of the truth of God’s wrath that man swims in the cesspool of his sin
There is a limit to the patience of God though...
Genesis 6:3 NKJV
And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Evil is already running rampant - Transgender story time in local libraries indoctrinating children to their lifestyle ; MBLA now want pedophilia classified and a sexual orientation; The attempt to silence the voice of reason crying in the wilderness if you are not in agreement with their sin
There is a moment coming when the patience of God will be depleted and man will be left to his own demise
Daniel 12:1 NKJV
“At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
Jesus said:
Matthew 24:12 NKJV
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Lawlessness will abound
So we see that the fulfillment of everything in the first part of Matt 24. Jesus went on to warn them about the next phase:
Matthew 24:21–22 NKJV
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
