My Record Speaks For Itself

In the old West the tombstones had an epitaph. A short script to summarize
to life of the cowboy.
At the closing of the life of John the Baptist; the fame of Jesus grew.
John now in seclusion because of his imprisonment sends his disciples out to enquire of Jesus and his authenticity.
They ask of Jesus for John; are you the one who is to come or should we look for another?
Jesus did not reply with a long list of personal accolades and testimonials but rather Jesus told John’s disciples look at my life’s work thus far.
Go and tell John what you have seen and heard.
The blind see 2. The lame walk 3. The lepers are cleansed
4. The deaf hear 5. The dead are raised 6. And the Gospel is preached to the poor.
What Jesus said was “ my record speaks for itself”

2 Timothy 4:5–8 KJV 1900
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Offered (to be poured out as a drink offering) Since I have served as pastor here at Little Rock these two years bro Shorter has been pouring himself out in service to this church.
