Intro
Our study is He Found the One
Remember, He left the 99 sheep
The Pharisees
Those that did not need Him
He went and found the one
The one that did want Him
That did need Him
We later saw the Man of the Gadarenes - The Man With Demons
The man with a legion of demons
Christ left a multitude of people
crossed the sea
and found this man
Then we saw The woman of Samaria - The Unfaithful Woman
Christ left the Pharisees
made a special trip to go find just her
Mary Magdalene - The Suffering Woman
Christ came to the tomb in her time of need
He came just to her, to heal her broken heart
Saul - The Religious Persecutor
Met him on the road to Damascus
Took a man fighting against Him and turned Saul into one of the greatest missionaries to this day.
Started with 99 and 1
Then went and saw 4 people that Christ went and looked for
Christ came to all of them
Looked for them
And found them
But does the story end there?
There is more
Let’s continue reading in our original verses and find out what happened.
There some things similar with every single one of these people
Luke 15:5-7
The Shepherd Went Rejoicing - gozoso
The first thing we see is that the Shepherd went rejoicing
Who is the Shepherd?
Of course we know, in our story, that is Christ.
When I read the story here, I think, that is great, a sweet story.
The shepherd was happy to find to find his sheep.
But when we look at this story as we have seen in the past weeks it changes that perspective
This isnt just any shepherd, this is the Good Shepherd
This not any sheep, this sheep is just like you and I
this sheep was not worthy
This sheep was lost
This sheep was without hope
yet the Shepherd Went and found a sheep that was just like you and me
Then, He was so happy to find that sheep
Help the sheep
Rescue you and me
He rejoiced
He was so excited to find a dirty ole sheep like me that He went and told others
Example - Let’s put this into something we would understand
Imagine He got on to a bus, sat down, the first thing He did was tell
Imagine he was walking down the street with a friend, the first thing He does is tell
Imagine He sat down with family for supper, the first thing He does is tell
He is so excited, He tell everyone what happened
He Found The One!
When Christ saved my soul, He was so excited, He told others
Not only did Christ rejoice, He let ALL of Heaven know what He found
ALL of Heaven rejoiced with Him
Imagine, Christ was that excited to find you and to find me
Personally, I dont think this joy only applies to our salvation
Remember, Christ went and found Mary Magdalene the suffering woman
Saul/Paul the Religious Persecutor that would carry His gospel to the Gentiles
I believe Christ was excited to help Mary.
Was excited to use Saul and give saul greater things than he ever imagined
I believe Christ wants to save us
Wants to heal us when we suffer
Wants to use us
Imagine, Christ and ALL of Heaven rejoicing, because of you!
The Shepherd Went Rejoicing - gozoso
The Sheep Went Recounting
The Sheep Went Recounting - Publicando
Our message does not stop with Christ and Heaven rejoicing
There is something that happened with each of our people that I believe is important to know.
They couldn’t help but let others know what Christ did
Man of Gadarenes - Man with demons
.
Man with demons
.
Woman of Samaria - unfaithful woman
Mary Magdalene - suffering woman
Saul - religious persecutor
Each one of the people that Christ came and found did the same thing afterwards
They all went and told others
They all went and shared that they had seen Christ
what Christ had done for them
I think of the woman of Samaria.
Scripture never says that Christ told her to go tell others
It was as if she couldnt help herself
She wanted others to know what Christ did
Christ did something so great for them they had to tell
He Freed the man with demons
He came to an unfaithful woman as if she was special like anyone else
He healed a suffering woman with a broken heart
He came to use a man the had persecuted the church
They Didn’t just go share their experience, they all went and shared Christ
Look at those verses again and see
Every one of them shared what HE had done.
Others heard about Christ through them
Example:
There can be 10 parents at a game.
If you ask those parents about that game, each one will tell you what their child did
