Pastoral Prayer from
Father in heaven, our Creator,
We worship You.
You are God who stretches out the heavens.
That is incredible and utterly unfathomable.
And yet you considered us.
You considered us to save us.
Which causes us to consider Your immense and incredible grace.
You sent Your Son to accomplish our salvation.
His death on the cross made propitiation for our sins — perfectly satisfying every demand of Your holy justice.
He brought us out of guilt and into forgiveness, out of darkness into light, out of rebellion and into Your love, out of death and into life.
Jesus Christ our Lord delivered us from the evil one.
He brought us into Your glorious kingdom.
And we praise You for the wonder of Your love in Jesus Christ.
We thank You for loving us, the unloveable.
We therefore long to love You with a love like Yours.
We praise You our Lord and our God, our Creator, Dear Father of lights.
Fill our hearts with thanksgiving, may we honor You in all we do and say.
In the blessed name of Jesus we pray.
Amen.
