What is Apologetics?
What I’m here to talk to you about tonight is Christian Apologetics.
I’ve realized recently that when it comes to Apologetics, people are very confused on the subject.
Some people absolutely love it, and some people hate it.
People have different views of what it is and what it means.
So what is Apologetics?
I think our answer is found in the Bible.
Every Christian is an apologist.
Here Peter defines Apologetics.
It is simply defending your Christian faith with reason in a gentle and respectful manner.
One thing I heard a lot growing up was that you can’t argue someone into Heaven, so there was no point in wasting your time.
Either people are humble and will accept the truth or they are hardened and will do what they want to do.
While I think there is some truth to this statement, I don’t believe it paints the right picture.
I think, quite simply and I’ve seen it happen many times, that you can argue people into the Christian faith.
