Last week we saw in scripture that God is loving and very intentional. The Lord has proven Himself to us time and time again. When we look through our personal history we can often see how God ordained things in our lives.
We must change our attitude towards the answers that the Lord gives us when we pray. We must not only ask the Lord our request but we must pay attention to His answers and trust Him.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

When we pray and talk to the Lord, do you believe we have His full attention? I believe we do, but don’t take my word for it. Let’s look at scripture.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
“confidence” - can also be defined as boldness
παρρησία - parrēsia
not cockiness but total confidence that we can approach God and He will hear us.
“anything”
I love that word! ANYTHING! ANYTHING! ANYTHING!
“according to his will”
According to God’s Word we can have assurance that God hears all prayers…HOWEVER...
He answers those prayers according to His Will.
We mentioned last week that His will is better than our will. Let’s see what Jesus says about this...
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
Luke 22:
Christ knowing He was facing a horrific death, still prayed for God’s will to be done.
Often we pray for something and it is just not according to God’s will. His answer to that prayer is what is best for us. He is protecting us from ourselves.
We MUST not focus our prayers on what He can do for us. We MUST focus our prayers on God being glorified in our lives.
