Introduction

LSU house for sale - man had LSU coffin that apparently he wasn’t even buried in… “Super Fan” Invested his life in something that paid no eternal reward… So far from the truth...
Heartbreaking to live a life that completely misses the truth about life - even more heartbreaking to be close to the truth and completely miss it.
The Pharisees invested their lives into being “Super Fans” of God - so close to God but completely missed God - fans but not followers - And, in their zeal for God, not only did they miss God but caused others to miss Him as well.
What we’ve learned in Mark - it’s completely possible to be a “Super Fan” - to be a part of the religious crowd, to be zealous for religious activity, to have lots of religious memorabilia - but not know God at all.
In this passage, a completely different side of Jesus - anger - because the ones who were supposed to get it and bless others with the knowledge of God completely missed it - Simple truth: If you miss the truth of God, your life will be overturned by God. As we move towards the end of Mark’s Gospel, this reality become more and more evident.

I don’t want you to miss the truth! Three questions to ask ourselves so we might know if we are living as followers of Jesus - immersed in the truth - or if we are merely fans of religion.
