The Whole Armor of God

We are instructed to put on the whole armor of God
Expectation of the believer should be to fight
Paul talks about fighting the good fight
Paul talks about running a race
And here he talks about wrestling
Each piece is important and must not be neglected
If God has given you a tool or promise, we must not neglect to use that tool (the parable of the talents)

Supernatural Weapons to equip a Supernatural People for a Supernatural Battle, with Supernatural Results

Romans 8:31–39 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31-39
I hate cliche christianity
Christianity without tears and blood, joy and sorrow, without struggle
We were not created for happiness, we were created for purpose
eat drink and be marry is a rather empty way to live
what are you going to do?
Watch make believe people, do make believe things while your life slips away
play make believe games and pretend an adventure?
1 Corinthians 7:23 NKJV
You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
Don’t let the world tell you what to live
1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
You are created in the image of the most high
and if you have believed on Him as Lord are even more.
Hebrews 1:5–6 NKJV
For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”
pay attention to this phrase “first born”
John 1:12–13 NKJV
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
That is the Good News that is the Gospel, “gospel” means “good news”
I talk to some Christians and wonder if it really is good news.
which brings us to our next piece of armor.
Ephesians 6:10–15 NKJV
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph

First Point, It is GOOD news!

we have something to shout about, we something to celebrate
if you are not moved by the what God has done, you got a problem my friend
could be a lack of understand - you fail to realize what God has saved you from
we could sing all day, “praise God I am not going to hell.”
but we got something better, “I am on my way to heaven, I ought to be shouting victory.”
could be an exalted feeling of self importance that has you take for granted that “of course God would save me”
Philippians 4:4 NKJV
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
in the original language there wasn’t any explication marks to show emphasis, so they would repeat themselves,
What we see here is really powerful in that it comes out and says”Again I say”
If you get more excited about a game than you do about what Jesus has done for you, there is something wrong with and you need to spend sometime alone with God and figure it out
because....
Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV
Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
the more joy you find in Jesus the stronger you are going to be

Happy feet are motivated feet.

Second point: The Gospel is the foundation

you start any where else you might be able to gather a crowd, but you are not going to get Christians
the Gospel is where the power is at
Romans 1:16 NKJV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
the prosperity Jesus
a soldier’s footwear is one of the most important concerns of an army
without footwear your army doesn’t go anywhere
the tradition Jesus
in ancient warfare traction was important, because they needed to be able to literally push, and push back
Where you stand is important
there is only one true Jesus, and that
when the devil start flinging lies, you need to be able to push back

Third point: you need to preparation in the Gospel

1 Peter 3:15 NKJV
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
Romans 3:23 NKJV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9 NKJV
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

What is the first thing you should do?

Acts 2:38 NKJV
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion: Are you wearing any shoes?

maybe you need to put on these Gospel shoes for the first time
maybe you need God to “Restore the joy of Your salvation”
