To Martha a theological answer, a doctrinal promise.
Jesus met Martha where she was, she was a thinker, a doer, a driven person.
She thought through things, made decisions with her mind.
So Jesus teaches her here some doctrine about the true and final resurrection.
And we are thankful for it
John 11:28
Mary is very different than Martha, she is more emotionally driven, she makes decisions with her heart.
She generally feels things rather than thinking through them.
Jesus also meets her where she is, no theological answer given.
Jesus weeps with her
Read the situation, know the person, find their need and meet them there
Weeping with someone is good, encouraging someone with good theology, doctrine and promises of God is also good.
Jesus has the wisdom, the relational sensitivity to answer each appropriately, to meet each where they need to be met.
Our natural tendency is to do the one we would want, instead we need to prayerfully and in a spirit lead manner, reach and comfort them the way they will best receive, the way that Jesus would.
John 11:37-
Many Jews believed the spirit would hang around for 2-3 days, but not 4, because the body would become unrecognizable to the spirit
Jesus is past that point, Lazarus is dead, and his Spirit is gone, according to popular belief
Jesus thanks preemptively.
Great and Pure Faith can do that.

This was the ultimate sign, the most important miracle that Jesus preforms.

this is taking place less than 2 weeks before Jesus own resurrection.
This was Jesus setting the stage for his own resurection.
This is his way of building up the faith of the people to believe in his own resurection
to show them power over death.
It is also what triggers the enemy, to want to kill him all the more.
We also see that not only are they planning to kill jesus but in 12 they plan to kill Lazarus too
Satan wants Lazarus, who is living evidence of Jesus power of resurrection dead.
He wants to squash and disqualify the sign Jesus preforms
I know that my Saviour lives,

My flesh may be destroyed,
yet from this body
