Message: “Tell Him”

Dan and I had two conversations. The first on June 21st and the second on July 2nd. In both conversations we talked about his sickness and his relationship with Jesus. Two things that was clear in our conversation: One, Dan wanted to live, and two, Dan wanted to be prepared for death. The bible says this:
Hebrews 9:27 NIV84
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Dan want to make sure he was ready to face the judgement.
On the day he died we talk more about what the Bible says about death and salvation and Dan confirmed this faith in Jesus Christ. He accepted himself as a sinner and confirmed his need of Jesus Christ. I quote, “Jesus is the only way to Heaven”. After this spiritual conversation Devin walked in and Dan looked at me and said, “Tell Him”. So I share with Devin our conversation. So today my message is titled, “Tell Him”, and I want to share what Dan want all of you to hear so you too will be ready to face the judgment.

Our Problem is Sin

It is not just your problem the bible says it is our problem.
Romans 3:23 NIV84
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
1 John 1:8 NIV84
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
The Problem is that we are helpless to do anything about our sin. Many people just try to do better or be better and hope it is enough. But it is never enough!

Our Answer is Jesus

Romans 6:23 NIV84
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NIV84
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is our only hope. Jesus came to earth, lived, and died for you and me so we can have life after death.
Romans 5:8 NIV84
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Our Response is Surrender

BUT the only way Jesus can effect our life is if we receive Him.
John 1:12 NIV84
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
Acts 2:39 NIV84
The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
So having a personal relationship with Jesus is a personal choice....
Turn away from our sins. We walk away from the lifestyle of the World.
We trust in Jesus. We make him Lord over our life. We do what he wants us to do.
We do this through prayer and action. Notice this verse:
Romans 10:9–10 NIV84
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Romans
Romans 10:13 NIV84
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
