What causes you to feel relaxed?

How do you Unlax?
I would hear Hurt utter these words several times a day for the past couple years.
People would call him and ask “What are you doing?”
He would cheerfully say, I’m doing some Unlaxing or about to do some unlaxing.
I would think to myself, why don’t you just say that you are relaxing.
It was last night, after spending all week talking to God and said Lord, help me give a word that would comfort thou people.

I could hear Hurt say I’m doing some Unlaxing.
What does this word mean?
To Unlax – Webster defines it as “cause to feel relaxed”.
It came to me that Hurt had been saying all along that he is getting ready to do something that will make him relax.
Weather it was listen to Jazz, Westerns or just setting back and enjoying himself.
It prepared him for relaxation.
What prepares you?
Hurt was not caught up with what the world was doing, but he was at attention to what he could do with his time that could help the love ones around him.
Whether its sweeping up around the block, selling snowballs and waters, or even passing out sweet buns.
It causes him to relax.
Sitting there thinking about how he could help others brought a since of relaxation for him.
Now I know that sound odd that working can be relaxing, but certain people have a calling and I believe today that was Hurt’s calling.
That was his calling over his life and he lived it.
Over the past 10 years I’ve seen him serve so many, help so many.
Many of Saturdays, he would get up and go down to the bakery just to buy the donuts and cakes to come back and give them to the people in the community.
It made him relax.
Hurt believed - Do to others as you would have them do to you.
He loved to help people.
He never wanted to see anyone suffers, never wished anything bad upon them.
He would say, that he has always been right, so he can’t judge them.
Hurt wanted to be his best and do his best.
And when you are doing your best, trying to be the best, God has a way of surrounding you with people that will help you.
He was not one who would holla out the religious says and quoting scripture.
He believed in living right as he could.
In this text
Jesus says, Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Jesus tells all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest.
Jesus isn’t speaking here of physical burdens.
Rather, it was the heavy burden of the system of works that the Pharisees laid on the backs of the people that Jesus was offering to relieve.
I want to stop right here briefly and say, you better watch what you put on your shoulders.
You cannot carry everybody burdens.
Hurt was a teacher to me.
He would remind me on occasion that you can’t help everybody.
Somethings we have to fin for ourself.
He would tell don’t let them run you crazy.
He would not allow weariness and burden to affect him.
He knew what rest was.
Later on in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus rebuke the Pharisees for laying heavy burdens on the shoulders of the people ().
You need to tell somebody Jesus has a way of fighting your battles, but you first need to come.
Jesus was saying that any kind of law-keeping is burdensome and amounts to a “heavy yoke” of oppression because no amount of law-keeping can bridge the gap between our sinfulness and God’s holiness.
God says through the mouth of the prophet Isaiah that all of our righteous deeds are like a “polluted garment,” and Paul reiterated to the Romans that “no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law” ().
The good news is that Jesus promises to all who come to Him that He will give them rest from the heavy burden of trying to earn our way into heaven and rest from the oppressive yoke of self-righteousness and legalism.
Jesus encourages those who are “heavy laden” to take His yoke upon them, and in so doing they will find rest for their souls.
The yoke of Jesus is light and easy to carry because it is the yoke of repentance and faith followed by a singular commitment to follow Him.
As the apostle John says, “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.
Jesus is telling us that we do not need to bear the burdens and responsibilities of day to day life by ourselves.
He is inviting us to come unto Him, and to bring Him into every area of our lives.
As we accept this invitation, we find a rest that fills our soul; there is a calm that enters into our heart, regardless of whether we find ourselves in the valley or on the mountaintop.
We know that wisdom is available to us every step along the way, that all things are working together for our good, and that the Lord is faithfully leading us into all that He has called us to be.
On June 28, 2018 at 11:42 AM Hurt accepted his last call.
No more sickness, no more pain, no more burdens of everyday.
He took the call of a peaceful transition.
In my spiritual mind, I can see the father telling him to come unto to me, there no more work for you here, come on unto me, you have fought a good fight, come on unto me, take my yoke and get this rest.
I’m taking you to place, where there are many mansion, I’m taking you to place where floors are gold, I’m taking you to place, where you will have golden slippers.
I can hear him say for the last time to all his love ones, let me miss you.
Well we missing you Hurt, but we know you head to the Promised Land and it’s flowing with milk and honey.
And I want to tell the family here.
