Big Idea
“Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (, ESV)
Jesus Feeds the 5K (Purpose from Johns text actually is exposed a litter later in the same chapter
· Jesus saw the people as sheep without a shepherd. (Matthews text)
· The disciples were not passionately concerned about caring for the welfare of the people
· God will test your heart
Fallen Condition: Selfish Heart and Lack of Faith: Disciples had seen miracle after miracle. Water turned to wine, official’s son, lame man healed plus other healings that John doesn’t name in detail and the other Gospels list.
They never thought to ask for Jesus’s help, they only thought about what they could accomplish in the natural in their own power.
· The Little Boy on had little (7 Loaves and 2 Fishes) but God Blessed it, and it became a great provision
· Extra provision doesn’t mean extra to waste
· Jesus was Not the King they were looking for

“This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true. Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” (, ESV)
