Greetings...
“In 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa a man died and left $70,000 in his will for “those of my relatives who are fundamentally Christians.” As a result of this wording a strange court case ensued involving a number of the kinfolk of the deceased. Time Magazine covered the trail in two issues under the striking heading: “Who Is A Christian?” In the final summation in December of 1951, Judge Charlton of Iowa City declared: “As a result of the testimony heard in this court I conclude that a Christian can believe almost anything or nothing.” The Judge gave the 70 thousand dollars to charity!” (Search The Scriptures: A Dozen Gospel Sermons by Johnny Ramsey pg. 27)
The tragic truth found sixty-seven years ago has only become worse now.
Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
The term Christian has been so trampled upon and watered down that most have no clue what a Christ-like person is according to the New Testament or Law of Christ.
One of the biggest reasons for this isn’t the denominational world or the world in general, no it’s because far too many of God’s elect today don’t examine themselves daily to make certain they are “demonstrating a Christ-like life.”
They don’t shout to the world their faith by their works ().
How many times have you known someone for a long time through work or other means only for the two of you to learn that each were members of the Lord’s body, His church?
Our opening statement and reflection of our life to others should be Christ () not Landon, Mark, Paul, Betty...
The focus of this lesson is to remind us “Why We Became A Christian” and to encourage each of us to have “Self Examination” and ask are we living in such a way that God is glorified through our faith?

The name Christian is the most noble and honorable name we could have.

As Christians we are to influence people to the light.

We are to lead them from the darkness of sin into the light of God’s Word.

Excellence is found in those that pride themselves on reaching in the goal, correcting mistakes that makes one fall short and reasserting themselves back into noble adventure.
As Christians we reach for the highest challenge.

“The rugged call of pristine religion is always pointing us to higher, richer and more demanding life.” (Johnny Ramsey: Search The Scriptures A Dozen Gospel Sermons pg. 29).
This means we must surrender our will to God.
20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
This means we must reshape our thoughts.
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
This means we must sacrificially follow the Lord.
33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
This means we must take up our cross daily and follow the Lord.

Remember why you became a Christian and reexamine your life and ask the question “Have I been Christ-like to the point others see my faith and are asking about my hope in salvation ().
