I am going to share things that I have learned from my dad and other men, like Kathy’s dad Bro.
Radke, Jon Elder, Billy Graham and other spiritual fathers in my life.
God has some things that he wants to put inside all of us.
One of the ways he does that is through our relationships.
He puts it in us and we pass it on to others.

This also runs the risk of transferring the bad along with the good.
ie: most abusers were abused.
(97%) God wanted to put good inside each of us, but it rand the risk of transferring bad as well.
Everything that the enemy tries to do to you can be undone - find freedom.

People have poured into my life.
My dad… John Elder…
I loved to listen to the stories my dad used to tell.
He was a story teller.
He taught me so much in my life… mostly by observation.
He could fix anything and my brother and I were always right with him under is feet trying to help.
Dad taught the Value - Excellence.
Stewardship.
Mom and dad would give even when they didn’t have it.
Daddy had a welding machine and he would fix people’s trailers or whatever and most of it was for free… even though we did not have much ourselves.
My first car, we built from 3 wrecked VW’s.
They always gave to the church.
I learned to tithe… to give time… etc.

God owns everything.
I am his manager.
God owns it all.
Tithe is not giving him his 10%.
He owns it all.
Our job is to steward it while we are here.
Highlands operates on 47% of what they take in.
Attitude.
When I was young, my dad’s business burned to the ground.
You could see the fire from 2 counties.
He never complained.
He just went back to work to rebuild it.
Later when it failed, he went to work for someone else but he never complained about his dream not working out like he wanted.
Life is 10% what happens to you & 90% how I react.

Begin each day as low as you can… on your face with Jesus.
Start every day with God on our minds and invite him into our lives, our businesses, our relationships...
Rest.
When we step into his yoke, he will give us rest.
Prayer.
Had a pastor growing up who would get up early every day and pray for the congregation by name.
Bro Radke when his wife was diagnosed with cancer… went to the Lord in prayer until he felt like he had prayed through.
Prayer should be our first response, not our last resort.
Not only prayer, but prayer with fasting.
It takes prayer and fasting.
People
People are important.
Billy Graham - you thought you were the only one he had to talk to.
He looked at you and lifted you.

Regardless of what kind of a person they are, I ...
Put a “10” on everyone
Tell people what they can be, not what they are.
You might have to look deep, but there is gold inside everyone.
You will not hear, you never… pray… you never ....
If you have come in here beat up by a church - I’m sorry.
That’s not what God has in mind for his church.
The only way we can leave our life of sin is if we don’t feel condemned by the one who is leading us out of that sin.
These values are important to me and they are important to this church.
It’s our spiritual DNA...
You may not have had a good Father experience… look at this verse.
Paul said he took the people who were not there and put other people in their place.
This is why it’s important for you to plug in and NOT church hop.
You have to have a relational connection.
You need spiritual Fathers.
We are seeing that in our countries right now.
The enemy is attacking our homes.
3 Takeaways
If you ave been disappointed in your past....
1. Allow God to heal the Father wound.
You need the power of this verse to do what we want to see… for you to find freedom.
Have someone you can tell what’s happened to you… who can pray with you and God will bring healing.
You don’t need a church, you need a family.
Our church, the church is a spiritual family.
No matter how small we are or how big we grow, we keep that family feel through our small groups, dream teams…
Heaven and Hell are real places so we are mandated to reach people who desperately need to know Jesus.
