Following The Light

As we begin this series on the life of Christ, I have chosen Following the Light as the Theme through which we will view each event. When we look at the birth of Christ we want to see truths from that time that will help us to follow Christ.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I. ใครติดตามพระเยซูคริสต์/Who Followed Christ

There were the crowds

There were those He healed

There were those He performed miracles before

There were His Disciples - When talking of the Disciples

II. การติดตามพระเยซูคริสต์หมายความว่าอย่างไร ยอห์น 12:26/What Does Following Christ Mean

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

A. ฅิดฅาม/Follow

Following someone to their house. When following, you simply observe where they are going and go that direction as well.

This is simple observation! Read The Book!

So follow means to;

1. สังเกต / Observe

We have The mind of Christ, but we ignore it! The Bible!

2. อาศัยอยู่/Abide

Following Christ means it must become a part of our lives. We cannot decide to do it sometimes and not others. Abiding in Christ is not a hotel, it is a home!

3. รับใช้/Serve

We cannot serve if we do not follow Christ

So let us determine to serve him where we can.

III. ผลของการติดตามพระเยซูคริสต์ มัทธิว 11:28-30 /The Result of Following Christ

A. ความร่วมมือกับพระคริสต์ / Partnership with Christ

In the yoke.

We can’t do life on our own.

B. วัตถุประสงค์ในชีวิต/Purpose to Life

Learn and serve.

For those of you who have come from a poorer background, you may not realize this yet, but wealth doesn’t bring peace and rest to the owner! Peace and rest come from having a right purpose in life.

Many American/Canadian people have given themselves to be rich and successful, but they had no peace. Their children are now growing up in comfort and financial success and they are searching for a purpose that will give them satisfaction and peace. Many will be concerned about many things (poor, hungry, global warming, social justice, etc) and seek to find meaning there. But then they become discouraged and depressed because there is always more good deeds to be done!

Christ gives us that purpose that they are searching for! What I find so disturbing is when Christians follow the ways of the lost people.

Ezekiel 16:

Ezekiel 16:49 KJV 1900

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Let us learn of Christ and His purposes for us, which will lead to true peace and satisfaction.

Conclusion:

Will you commit today to being faithful to the services and be determined to observe, abide with and obediently serve as the Bible will teach us?

Unbeliever, One thing I can tell you with the greatest confidence is this, everyone is a sinner who deserves to die and go to Hell for ever and ever. But God loves you and me so much that He sent His Sone Jesus to die on the cross in our place so that we can have forgiveness of sins!
