Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all died in faith. Faith was the main characteristic of their life right up until they died. Not one of them realized the promised land or the promise of innumerable descendants they saw themselves and strangers and exiles. If they doubted God’s promise, they could have returned to their homeland, but they did not. Instead, they desire a better country a heavenly one. So they all died well they all died in faith in an unseen and unfulfilled promise. They provide for us an example of the purpose of the journey we see how to live and die according to faith as exiles o this earth while we focus on and long for a better country in heaven.
