(Acts 18:8 NIV)

"I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except

(1 Corinthians 1:14 NIV)

The Process of Becoming a Christ-Follower:

è     _____________ in Jesus

è     Publicly _______________ with Him through Baptism

è    Get __________________ in a local church - start being discipled (taught)

è     Get out into the community and become an __________________ for Christ

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, {20} and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.""

(Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

1.  The Baby Question:  "Do We Baptize Infants?"

Here is what the Bible says about baptizing babies:

2 . The Clorox Question:  "Does Baptism Wash Away My

Answer:     (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV)  "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- {9} not by works, so that no one can boast."

(Acts 16:30-31 NIV)  "He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" {31} They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household.""

3.      The Teen-Age Question:  "Why should I?"

Answer:  Because it is an incredibly beautiful way to tell the story of what God ______ ________ for you.  It will be an encouragement to both you and to everyone who sees your baptism.  It is the primary way the Bible gives us to publicly _________________ our commitment to Christ!

(Romans 6:2-4 NIV)  "… We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? {3} Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? {4} We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

4.      The Attorney Question:  "Technically speaking, do I have to be baptized in order to be a Christ-follower?"

Answer:  ________, but why would you give your life over to the

control of Christ and then say "No" to your first test of obedience

            to Him?

5.      The H2O Question:  "How much water should we use for a baptism?"

Answer:  Enough to totally ______________ you.

(Matthew 3:16 NIV)  "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him."

6.      The Mechanic's Question:  "How do I get baptized?  What are the steps?

Answer:  Write a note on your response card or talk to a Pastor or Elder.  We then work with you to schedule your baptism
