4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

4 โดยความเชื่อ อาเบลจึงนำเครื่องบูชาที่ดีกว่าของคาอินมาถวายแด่พระเจ้า โดยทางความเชื่อนั้นท่านได้รับการรับรองว่าเป็นคนชอบธรรม พระเจ้าทรงรับรองของถวายของท่าน แม้ว่าอาเบลตายไปแล้ว แต่โดยทางความเชื่อท่านจึงยังพูดอยู่ 5 โดยความเชื่อ เอโนคจึงถูกรับขึ้นไปเพื่อไม่ให้ท่านประสบกับความตาย ไม่มีผู้ใดพบท่านเพราะพระเจ้าทรงรับท่านไปแล้ว เพราะก่อนที่จะรับท่านขึ้นไปนั้น ท่านได้รับการรับรองแล้วว่า ท่านเป็นที่พอพระทัยของพระเจ้า 6 แต่ถ้าไม่มีความเชื่อแล้ว จะไม่เป็นที่พอพระทัยเลย เพราะว่าผู้ที่จะมาเฝ้าพระเจ้านั้น ต้องเชื่อว่าพระองค์ทรงดำรงพระชนม์อยู่ และพระองค์ทรงเป็นผู้ประทานบำเหน็จแก่คนเหล่านั้นที่แสวงหาพระองค์ 7 โดยความเชื่อ เมื่อโนอาห์ได้รับพระดำรัสเตือนเกี่ยวกับเหตุการณ์ที่ยังมองไม่เห็น ท่านจึงยำเกรงและต่อเรือใหญ่ เพื่อช่วยครอบครัวของตนให้ปลอดภัย และโดยทางความเชื่อนั้น ท่านจึงกล่าวโทษชาวโลก และกลายเป็นทายาทแห่งความชอบธรรมซึ่งมาโดยความเชื่อ

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
