- We all have gifts and activities to carry out in the Kingdom. We all also have to carry out the great commission
We all have gifts and activities to carry out in the Kingdom
We all have to carry out the great commission
1 Corinthians 12:4–6 ESV
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
1 Corinthians

We have a responsibility to share Christ!

Following Christ means being willing to acknowledge Him before others.
Matthew 10:32–33 ESV
So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew
;
The Church has been given the task of sharing God’s wisdom to the world.
, - We need to have Paul’s desire to win as many as possible. We all know this so why is it still so hard to do?
- We need to have Paul’s desire to win as many as possible
Jude 23 ESV
save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
We all know this so why is it still so hard to do?

Knowing does not equal Obedience

Why do we hide our light rather than letting it shine? ;
;
Fear? Distraction? Intimidation?
Distraction, Intimidation
Intimidation
2 Timothy 2:8–9 ESV
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!
2 Timothy 2:8 ESV
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel,
We also might have an over complicated view of evangelism. Jesus gave simple instructions when He sent out the twelve that we can learn from. -
Jesus gave simple instruction when He sent out the twelve that we can learn from.
Matthew 10:7–13 ESV
And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay. Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts, no bag for your journey, or two tunics or sandals or a staff, for the laborer deserves his food. And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. As you enter the house, greet it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Matthew 10:
What we can learn from the example of Jesus’ instruction to the Apostles
Good news and good deeds done out of love are a powerful combination
As good works open doors to share the good news look for those who are peaceful seekers.
Build relationships with those whom God gives you opportunity
We can know a lot about evangelism but still not do it. Doing evangelism must come from the heart.

Have a heart full of the gospel

What we speak whether good or bad comes from what is in our hearts - ,
,
Matthew 12:24 ESV
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”
Matthew 12:35 ESV
The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
If we want the good news to come out we need to fill our hearts with it. ; Col. 3:16
;
Colossians 3:16

Have a heart of compassion for others

Our desire to tell others should be love for them first rather than fear for ourselves - Mt 9:36
Matthew 9:36 ESV
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Mark 9:36 ESV
And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them,

Have a heart of compassion for others

Mark
If we really care for others we will want to help them spiritually and physically -

Have a heart convicted of the truth

Do we speak what we believe? -
2 Corinthians 4:13 ESV
Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,
Are we bothered when we do not speak the truth when we could have. -
Jeremiah 20:9 ESV
If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.

Have a heart obsessed with glorifying God

Glorifying God for what He has done has always been a way of bringing people to Him.
Isaiah 12:5 ESV
“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
What has God done in your life that you can glorify Him for?
Psalm 66:16 ESV
Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.

Let your heart be strengthened by God’s power and presence.

God promises His power and presence to be with us as we carry out His word.
God fulfilled that promise to the Apostle Paul - ;
Is your love and relationship with God and care for others shaping your heart so that it leads you to carry out Christ’s mission to tell others of salvation?
