1 Corinthians 10:
1 Corinthians
We understand the importance of faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God . Just keeping love in the context of the scripture illustrates the importance of walking in love. But hope. How did Hope get included in the Big 3?
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Hope is definitely important.

Where Does Real Bible Hope Come From?
Read!
James 1:2 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
Fade in. WHEN YOU FALL.
Not if You Fall! (Greek)
Fade in. (To fall into something) Someone has dug a hole, and you fell into it. You might have dug the hole. (Not opening bills) The devil’s trying to steal my money. Christians live in this hole all their life. Why? We don’t know how to fill in the hole, without digging a new one.
Fade in to light upon. You were not expecting it, you just happened upon it. (Mom has a cat.)(Mom did not want another cat). (Scram or have a bowl of premium cat food, then go.)
Fade in. I am just under attack. (Cars) I’ll tell you one thing, you and Karen must really be getting ready to do something for God the way you are under attack.
Look at in different translations.
James 1:2

James
Fade in Troubles of any Kind.

2 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides.
James 1:2
Fade in Tests and Challenges
(Passion Translation NT) My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you
can!
Fade in nothing but Difficulties.

Did I just write your story?
James Gives Us 3 Directives
WHEN WE FALL.
Directive # 1
Read: Next: Plug in our definitions.
Read No matter how you choose to phrase it, ( even if it is just a little difficult, or a challenging day, )the Directive is the same. Notice the scripture does not say, put up with it, endure it, stay in bed all day with your head under the covers until it passes, ) The Directive is. Count it all Joy.
Look at the Word Translated Count.
Verb, (Action Word), Imperative: a command, Plural- It is an ongoing process. We do NOT take attacks off. So: To Lead, Enter your ear’s or eyes as an attack, by the time it exits your mouth, it has been reconfigured from an attack, to a heaven declared victory. command with official authority, consider, (Demonstrate)
The Valley, the darkest hour, death all around me. It has never been this bad before, Yea, Oh Joy, I will fear no evil. Why? Consider, count, wrap your mind around it, ....Fade in.
You are with me. (It makes all the difference.)
Continue:
They Dragged them.
magistrates: (Carry around bundles of wood rods)
vs 22 multitude: (beaten with rods.)
vs 23 many stripes
threw them into prison. (That almost seems better) Unless you understand the Roman Prison System)
Vs 24 Inner prison. (dark, damp, decaying flesh and disease all around.) Next
Back bleeding, open wounds, feet fastened in stocks, pushed over onto a cold damp disease infested prison floor. If the trial was not the next day, they could bring them out and do it all over again. Many prisoners did not make it to trial.

Silas: You know what Paul, This has been a bad day. Paul, it has been a challenge, I can’t wait to post about it on Facebook.

Is that how it all went down?
Read
Maybe for just a moment, the door in the top of the prison ceiling is opened. The jailer drops the prison mail down the hole with a candle so they can read their mail. Maybe there is a letter from James and he says, Hey Paul. Hey Silas, I was just praying and the Holy Spirit gave me this new Revelations. Tell me what you think.
That’s probably not how it came down. Paul and Silas probably already knew the revelation, just like you and me. The Epistle of James could have been written as much as 20 years before this moment. However the revelation came, Paul and Silas made a decision to count it all Joy.
At Midnight, It’s never been this bad before. We might not make it until morning. Even if we do, they might do it all over again. What’s the strategy?
They were worshiping: Do you think they felt like worshiping? What did they have to worship about? A young devil possessed girl was set free earlier today. There was that older lady, Lydia, She and her family became believers and were baptized last week. Remember Silas, The Holy Spirit did lead us here. It’s a stretch when you are in so much pain, and under so much pressure, but..... they chose to worship in the mist of all that ugliness. They were also singing hymns. We will touch on that in a moment, but first..... The prisoners were listening to them. Notice, it does not say, the “other “ prisoners were listening.
What’s Your Story?
Paul and Silas never allowed themselves to become prisoners or victims.
Was the pain real? oh yea, Was the blood still flowing? Yep, Was it still dark and damp. Just as damp. Just as dark. But sitting in the same set of circumstances was a group of people, held captive by their own prison, facing there own pain and uncertainty. Their story was about to be written by a Roman Judge.
James 1:2–4 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The Prison becomes a place of worship and praise.
How You Handle Challenging, Difficult Circumstances Can be the Key to Someone Else Getting Set Free From Their Prison.
Revisit Verse 25

James 1:2–4 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
It’s never been this bad before. My back hurts, it’s bleeding. It’s dark, It’s damp, There is no promise of tomorrow. Even if we see tomorrow, they could beat us again and throw us back int prison. I was only trying to do what the Holy Spirit said to do. What’s that Paul? You want to sing ?
Read:
You know what Silas, That was fun, but it feels like my back is getting infected, Maybe we should sing
Read:
You Know What Paul, I really enjoyed that one, you could almost feel the earth shaking when we got to the chorus. has always been one of my favorites. I think the prisoners are joining in.
Read:
James 1:2–4 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, Exalt him. Over and over.
Finally in
James 1:2–4 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The Prison of Circumstances could not hold them.
Suddenly. A few minutes before, it was still dark. Nothing was working. The rats were still running over their imprisoned bodies. But suddenly the prison was broken. The chains were broken. People with no hope of future, were now set free.
No Matter What You Are Going Through, Count it All Joy.
Many times, we don’t know if we are fighting the devil, or God’s the problem. (Explain)
