Good morning everyone and welcome to our Prayer Breakfast. We are so excited to have all of you here for a time of fellowship and food. We are so grateful that we are able to continue having this time where we can refill our cup. Ernie Vocke, will you lead us in a thanksgiving prayer; not only for the food (we are thankful for the food, amen?) but for our other blessings. In fact: let take a few moments to name some of these blessings as a group. Just call them out:
ask for people to name things for witch they are thankful
Ernie, Lead us in this prayer.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Please discuss these questions during your meal:

Name three things that are important to you?
If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
If you could plan a trip anywhere in the world for yourself and your best friend, where would you like to go?
Thank you Randy. Thank you Marty for providing us this time where we can recharge our batteries. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the prayer breakfast.
How are all of you guys doin this morning? No, really how are you doing? We’ve been given this time as a staff to help each other our. It’s not just a time for Food, Fellowship with a pep talk tacked on. We have endured as a staff some very hard times recently. Your chaplain staff wants to be here for you in this time. The Bible says to “bear one another’s burdens in love.” And that’s exactly what we want to do right now: Brother Michael is going to lead us in a time of prayer and we want to focus on your need right now. If you have a need that you dont want to verbalize here publicly please write them down and place them in the prayer box. But lets take a moment to listen to those who do want to do so.
ask for prayer requests
Michael will you lead us in a time of intercessory prayer for these requests?

Intercessory Prayer

Wow, Thank you Michael. We appreciate that.
Lets enter into a moment of learning and fellowship I’ve entitled Vector, Values, and Vision. Vector, values and vision are three ways that you can impact the meaningfulness of your life. Today we will look at these three concepts Vector, Values and Vision bur first I want to share a passage of scripture with you.
Proverbs 16:1–9 NRSV
The plans of the mind belong to mortals, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All one’s ways may be pure in one’s own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. All those who are arrogant are an abomination to the LORD; be assured, they will not go unpunished. By loyalty and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one avoids evil. When the ways of people please the LORD, he causes even their enemies to be at peace with them. Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice. The human mind plans the way, but the LORD directs the steps.
Let us pray;
Father God thank you for your word and thank you for the time we have together this morning I pray that you take the concepts that we discuss this morning Vector, Values, and Vision and use them to shape us into people, a company, whose way please you. Its by the name that is above all names I pray amen
Vector Values and Vision
I need three volunteers to read
ask them to read the three definitions
Think about these three words Vector, Vision and Value. Think about their definitions. They are printed for you on your hand out. and lets play my favorite game on Sesame Street
Play video

Respond to the Following Definitions:

Vector /ˈvektər/ N. 1. from mathematics: a geometric object that has length and direction. 2. a course to be taken
Vision /ˈviZHən/ N. A mental image of what the future will or could be like.
Values /ˈvalyo͞o/ N. Principles or standards of behavior; one's judgement of what is important in life.
one of these concepts is NOT like the others
The thing that is NOT like the other is vision
which is it? well lets see

Vector, Values, Vision

Vector please read the definition again
vector slide
It is an object in geometry that has length and direction. It us usually represented by a line segment with an arrow on one end. It represents a course, or a path to be taken, it is the steps you take to make progress toward a goal. Who has quote one read it for us please.
listen to the quote
discuss
Which brings us to the next item in the game

Values

Can you please read the definition for Values. Essentially they are what is important to a person or an organization. We have talked before how prioritizing what is important to you makes a difference
display map slide
Vector and Values work together help you navigate your journey in life. It is simular to a map.
and discuss Read quote 2
These two principles are very beneficial but you can have a vector, a direction in life and have great plans and have your values in line but with out vision it’s like being on the wrong map
read quote 3

Vision

Proverbs 29:18 KJV 1900
Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
As we come to a close this morning Lets take a few moments to ask the lord to plot give us a vision that is so compelling that we cant help but build our lives arround it
