2 Timothy 2:1–4 KJV 1900
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

A strong soldier

A soldier should be strong and ready for the battle
1 Timothy 2:1 KJV 1900
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 Timothy 2:1 KJV 1900
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Yaskaaran he meraa choraa, KhrishT Yeshumaa bhaeko anugrahamaa timi baliyo hou.

Diet(aahaar) - God’s Word

How can we be strong soldiers without eating the right food?
“Many battles have been won by cooks”
Job 23:12 KJV 1900
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Na taa uhaa’kaa oTh-kaa aagyaa-haru-baaTa ma pachi haTeko chhu; Maile uhaa’ko mukh-kaa bachan-harulaai mero aabashyak bhojan-bandaa baDi mulyabvaan Thaaneko chhu.
Psalm 119:103 KJV 1900
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Tapaaikaa bachan-haru mero swaaD-kaa nimti kati guliyo chhan! Ho, mero mukh-kaa nimti maha-bhandaa pani guliyo!
Jeremiah 15:16 KJV 1900
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.
Tapaaikaa bachan-haru phelaa pare, ra maile tin-laai khaae’; Ani tapaaikaa bachan-haru meraa nimti harsha ra mero hridaya-ko aananda bhae; Kinaki he Param-Prabhu, senaa-harukaa Parameswar, ma tapaaiko naam-le kahaa-laaieko chhu.
1 Peter 2:2 KJV 1900
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Ra nayaa’ janmekaa baalak-haru-jhai’ bachan-ko bishuddha dudhko tirsanaa gara, ra yas-duaaraa timi-haru bad-dai jaao;
If we do not have the right diet, we will be weak soldiers
We will not be ready to fight in spiritual battles

Exercise(saadanaa garnu) - Faith and Obedience

We have all seen soldiers out exercising
In the roads running
Up in ratna park
We increase strength with exercise
Through work
Through using the strength we have
Romans 4:20 KJV 1900
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Ani Parameswarko pratigyaako sambanda-maa abiswaas garera uni laDakhaDaaenan, tara Parameswarlaai mahimaa di’dai uni biswaasmaa baliyo raho.
1 tim 4 7-7
How do we become strong in faith?
Use your faith
1 Timothy 4:7–8 KJV 1900
But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Tara ashuddha ra buDi stri-harukaa dantyakathaa-harulaai inkaar gara, ani bhakttikaa nimti aaphailaai saadanaa gara! 8 Sharirako saaDhanaa-le thorai laabh hunchha; Tara bhakti-chaahi’ sabai kuraakaa nimti laabhadaayak hunchha; Kinaki yasaimaa ahileko jiban ra pachhi aaune jibanko pratigyaa chha.
Take one step and the next is easier
Jumping bike - small first, then larger

A focused soldier

Continues in difficulty

2 Timothy 2:3 KJV 1900
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
3 Yaskaaran Yeshu KhrishTko asal sipaahi-jhai dukh uThaau.
2 Timothy 3:12 KJV 1900
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Ho, KhrishT Yeshumaa bhakti-purbak jiuna chaahane-haru sabai sataawaT-maa parnechhan.
Persecution(sataawaT) will come
But we cannot leave the battle
We cannot leave God’s will
We cannot leave God’s work
To be a good soldier, we cannot quit!
Focus on our goal!
Philippians 3:14 KJV 1900
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
KhrishT Yeshumaa Parameswarko uchhha bolaawaTko puraskaar-ko nimti ma nishaan-tira dugurchhu.
1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 1900
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Yaskaaran meraa priya bhaai-haru-ho, timi-haru sthir ho-o, achal ho-o, ra sadai-bhari Prabhu-ko kaam-maa prashasta hu’dai jaao; Kina-bhane timi-harulaai thaaha chha, Prabhumaa timi-haruko pariksham byartha hu’daina.
We cannot quit in difficulty

Leaves distraction

2 Timothy 2:4 KJV 1900
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
4 Aaphulaai sipaahi-maa bharna garnelaai Khushi paarnaakaa nimti kunai pani laDaai’ garne maanisle aaphulaai yas jibankaa dhandaa-harumaa phasaau’daina.
The devil is not just trying to make us follow a particular path
He is happy with any path other than truth
He is happy if you follow false gods
He is also happy if you are busy with work and forget God
He is happy if you are separated from God by sin like pornography
But he is also happy if you are forget God because you love sports so much
Distractions stop us from serving the Lord
From obeying him
From being close to Him
James 1:8 KJV 1900
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Dui-chitte maanis aaphnaa sabai chaal-chalan-maa chan’chal hunchha.

Obeys his authority

Joshua 24:15 KJV 1900
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
...Aajai roj kas-ko sewaa garchhaau… tara ma ra mero gharaanaa-chaahi’ - haami Param-Prabhuko sewaa garnechhaau’.
Every day we make this choice
We choose whatever is most important
We choose to obey God and his will
Or we choose to do our own will
A good soldier will obey his commander(senaa-pati)
Are you my authority?
Does this order come from God?
Does this order come from my commander?
Will you obey?
