Winston Churchill
An athlete may be born with a strong body, a musician with perfect pitch , an artist with an eye for perspective
But none of us can claim an innate Spiritual advantage.
We are all equally disadvantaged
Romans 3:9 NLT
Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin.
Romans 3:10 NLT
As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.
Romans 3:11 NLT
No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God.
Romans 3:12 NLT
All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.”
Romans 3:13 NLT
“Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” “Snake venom drips from their lips.”
Romans 3:14 NLT
“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
Romans 3:15 ESV

No One Naturally Seeks after God, none is inherently righteous, none instinctively does good.
Therefore Spiritual Discipline is everything !!
1 Timothy 4:7 AMP
But refuse and avoid irreverent legends (profane and impure and godless fictions, mere grandmothers’ tales) and silly myths, and express your disapproval of them. Train yourself toward godliness (piety), [keeping yourself spiritually fit].
1 Timothy 4:8 AMP
For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.
1 Tim
Not only is this important but it is a matter of urgency
The word “train” comes from a greek word that means naked.
And is the word from which we derive our English word gymnasium.
In traditional Greek athletic contests the participants competed without clothing so that it wouldn't be any hindrances
1 Corinthians 9:25 NLT
All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
1 Corinthians 9:26 NLT
So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.
1 Corinthians 9:27 NLT
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
Spiritual Sweat
Hebrews 12:1 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
