Today is the day of Pentecost, so I would like to talk about the Holy Spirit.
And I would like to about him ( Holy Spirit) in a way that we can all connect, and grow deeper in our walk with God.
Holy Spirit is our friend… What kind of friendship do we have with Holy Spirit ?
What is included in this friendship ?
Well, naturally how do you know when someone is your friend ?
Spending time with a friend
Trust
Having common intrest
Sharing your problems and secrets
supporting each other
In most healthy relationships these qualities are apart of that friendship.
The same thing with the Holy Spirit.
Not only can you treat him as friend, but as a best friend.
The Bible shows these characteristics.
Lets go to John16:7 (ESV) “ 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you.
But if I go, I will send him to you.”
So Jesus is saying its better for him ( Jesus) to go away if we want the helper to come.
And that helper is the Holy Spirit, but how is the Holy Spirit my helper?
7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you.
But if I go, I will send him to you.

16 “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept him, because it does not see him or know him.
But you know him, because he lives with you and he will be in you.18 “I will not leave you all alone like orphans; I will come back to you.”

Jesus is taking about the helper, again, so that has to show us.
That Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit.
The helper will be with us forever.
In our good, bad, problems, success or trials .
He is like that body guard with us everywhere we go.
The world can’t have him ( Holy Spirit) because only the children of God that are saved, and wasted by the Blood of Jesus can have him ( Holy Spirit).
The Helper will make a home in our heart because he will live in us forever.
Lets look at some other characteristics.

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
14 He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
Lets brake this down and understand what is Jesus saying to us..
Imagen if we had a computer, and only way to download or save, or install any program we want.
Even for the computer to function 90 %, we need a special disk for that computer.
“ I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.”
In different words, It doesn't mater how much we put into that computer, because that special disk hasn't updated or made more room in our computer.
Then he says, “when the Spirit of truth comes”, or when the Holy Spirit becomes our helper.
“ He will guide us into all truth”.
Our helper or Holy Spirit will always point to the Bible as our source of truth.
Jesus is also the truth from ( ) “ I am the way, the truth and the life” The helper will point to Jesus as well.
I hope, that we started to know what kind of friendship, we have with the Holy Spirit.
He is always there for us, in us, and shining more of Christ into our life.
Holy Spirit is not just some kind of theology, he actually lives and abides in us.
Knowing the Holy Spirit in my personal life, transformed my life.
