The Word, Our Connection With God

THE WORD IS SPIRT AND LIFE

1. WORD of God is seed

Luke 8:11 The seed is the Word of God
Luke 8:11 NIV
“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.
Mk 4:14 Seed is the Word of God
Mark 4:14 NIV

1 Pet 1:23 Born again through the incorruptible seed of the word of God
1 Peter 1:23 NIV
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
Outer-shell of the word is the law...The fleshly part...
Col 2:13-14 The law was nailed to the cross
Colossians 2:13–14 NIV
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
Rom 10:4 Christ is the end of the law...
Romans 10:4 NIV
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

2.Word is life

Jn 6:63 My words are spirit and life
John 6:63 NIV
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
Seed in a jar looks dead... Looks dead but is totally alive.
Jesus is the Word and the Word is seed...
Prov 4:20-22 Words are life to those who find them and health to their whole flesh
Proverbs 4:20–22 NIV
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.

3. SEED must fall into the ground and die to produce.

Jn 12:24 A seed must be planted and die to produce more seeds.
John 12:24 NIV
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
What part of the seed dies?.... Only the shell..
Jesus had to be planted into the earth to bring forth the fruit of God..
What part of Jesus died?
the Word of God is seed The shell of Jesus died, but not his Spirit

4. Part of the Word must die

The Word of God comes in a shell...
The shell of a seed is where the majority of the fiber is... Doesn't taste so great but does cleansing wonders.....
The Word of God is encapsulated in words that can be read and recognized by the most unregenerate of man.
The shell of the Word is looked at by natural man as rough and tasteless.
Jesus is the Word, and part of Him had to die Which part of the word dies?
2 Cor 3:6 The letter kills but the Spirit gives life
2 Corinthians 3:6 NIV
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
1 Cor 8:1 Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1 Corinthians 8:1 NIV
Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up.

5. The inside part of the seed of the Word of God is Love.

Jn 1:1 Word is God
John 1:1 NIV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1 Jn 4:8  God is love
1 John 4:8 NIV
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Rom 13:9 All commandments summed up in a single command LOVE
Romans 13:9 NIV
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Gal 5:14 The entire law summed up in a single command LOVE
Galatians 5:14 NIV
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Jn 5:36-41 Jewish leaders who diligently studied the Word did not have the word or love in them
John 5:36–41 NIV
“I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. “I do not accept glory from human beings,
1 Jn 4:7-12 It's all about love
1 John 4:7–12 NIV
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 Jn 4:16-21  It's all about love
1 John 4:16–21 NIV
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
