Why do we break into a sweat over all the stuff that goes wrong in our lives? When the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy… can we be more joyful than we actually are? We contrast worldly joy with the Christian’s joy. Although Jesus is leaving his disciples, He makes the point that seeing Him, after his resurrection, is how the disciples will have enduring joy. This ability to ‘see’ Him comes from knowing the work of the Holy Spirit within. Disciples today will deal with sorrow, but Jesus is the Man of Sorrows who gives amazing joy. Faith in Him brings about the deep joy that we all need for living in this world. Do you have this joy?
