God reveal his word to John by sending his angel to his servant John. The book of revelation is revealing and unveiling and the greek it is called apocalypse which reveal the heavenly mysteries such as Gods’s throne in heaven or the climax of history.
Revelation is both hope literature and crisis literature it is meant to instill hope during a period of crisis. It tells readers that they will not be harmed spiritually if they remain faithful.
The book of revelation is prophecy that’s why the author says bless is the one who reads aloud this prophecy and blessed to the ones who hear and who keep what is written in it for the time is near.
Context- John audience is to the seven churches that are in Asia. John introduces himself by saying I John, your brother and partner in the tribulations and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus.. John said I’m writing to the ones who are in Jesus that is going through what I’m going through which are hardships and under pressure. John is on the island called Patmos the Aegean sea.
Revelation provides hope to the seven church who are going through tribulation and those who keeps his word about patient endurance and not letting anyone grab their crown to life. It offers restoration to those who keep his word and truth and will not be tested with that whats to come in the world
