Give an Account
one of the things that we are held accountable to God for

As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

It’s not that He needs us to but that He wants us to
In our praise & worship of Jesus others will hear our account
this is evangelism
telling the world of what Jesus has done
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
who do we tell?
Mark 16:15
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
In what way?
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

What message?
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Why?

And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.
Philemon 6:15

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
one day God will ask each and every believer
WHO IS IN HEAVEN THAT YOU HAVE IMPACTED BY YOUR OBEDIENCE?
When we are obedient in giving an account:
we are encouraged because we have purpose
our joy is increased
can you eat a good meal without making some sort of notion to it?
can you watch your favorite sports team win a game and not make a sound or display emotion?
It is a completion of our joy
The problem is

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
there are plenty of people to reach but few who are speaking up
We know why we need to give an account...
But we don’t feel equipped...
you are the most equipped person on earth to share what Jesus has done and is doing in your life
Satan’s attack
lack of asking in prayer
We fear that others may not receive the message of Jesus from someone like yourself...
sin and shame in your past
not living perfect today
the Gospel isn’t that we are perfect but that Jesus is… the message is about Jesus not about us
We fear that those who we are sharing with will not receive the message of Jesus because the “kind of person” that they are...
There is one message for all people
no matter their culture or background
Jesus has the power to save anyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord
How can you give an account?
- Get baptized and invite your friends & family
tell people that you got baptized and that God is working in your life
that you are a new person
old passed away
- Pray for open doors to share what God has done and is doing in your life or in the life of those around you… then speak up
at work...

because everyone loves babies or they should
Everyone loves Jesus … or they should as well
my passion and love for Him should ooze out of me in so many situations
