Introduction
The most precious thing we have is God’s Word.

God spoke the world into existence.
Gen 1:1
God spoke and their was dry land and the sea
God spoke and the Sun, the moon and the stars appeared in the heavens.
God spoke and the sea was filled with living creatures
He spoke again and there were birds and livestock, and everything that creeps on the Earth.
Then God spoke to himself.
A conversation to himself and he made man.
God created us in his image and in his likeness and gave us the ability to speak back to him.
We are the only creatures on Earth that can speak back to him.
From that day forward God has been carrying on a conversation with us.
Speaking directly to us and we speaking directly to him.
God desires a relationship with us that is real and personal.
God has been speaking to man since the beginning of time.
God spoke to Adam and Eve.
God spoke to Noah about the Ark and the coming destruction of the world.
God spoke to Abraham and to Moses
He spoke to the children of Israel
He spoke to the prophets and the kings.
God speaks to us in hopes that we would respond to him.
Has someone ever gotten mad at you and stopped talking to you.
You say something to them and they don’t respond.
You think oh they just didn’t hear me.
So you say did you hear me and you repeat yourself.
And they still don’t respond.
Immediately you are asking them what is wrong.
It’s not normal to be spoken to and not to speak back.
It is even mean when you can speak back and you just won’t.
What you are telling the other person by not responding is I don’t want a relationship with you.
I don’t want to talk to you.
God speaks to give us direction in our lives
We have a written record of what God has said to man.
God has been carrying on a conversation with mankind since the beginning of time and we have the record of that conversation.
Why? because he want a relationship with you.
He wants you to know him the way that he knows you.
This the very definition of eternal life
So how can you know God the way that he knows you?
So how can you know God the way that he knows you?
Hebrews 1:1-
Jesus the Son of God, the exact imprint of God, has revealed God to us.
Jesus has spoken to us.
God has revealed to us his words and his nature to us through his Son Jesus Christ.
God has expressed his love to us through his Son.
Jesus is the expression of God to us.
God showed his love by Jesus dying for our sins.
1 John 4:9-10
Jesus has risen from the grave and is alive today.
God has spoken Light into your heart.
2 Cor 4:
What has your response been back to God.
Have you spoken to God who is speaking to you, or have you just ignored him.
You might say God has not spoken to me.
But yet you see his words all around you.
The whole reason Mombasa exists is because God said,
You are able to grow crops because God said,
God is speaking to you every day of your life.
God has even sent us to travel 15,000 km to share with you the message God have for you this week.
We have been planning this trip for a whole year because God is speaking to you.
You are not hear by accident this week.
God is speaking to you.
What will be your response to him?
Will you ignore him?
Will you pretend to not here him?
Will you not listen when he speaks?
Will you shut him out because you don’t want a relationship with him?
How will you respond this week.
If you will open your heart and listen to the Lord he will speak to you personally this week.
There was a time that Elijah needed to hear from the Lord.
I think the Lord is asking many of you the same question this week.
“What are you doing here?”
1 Kings 19:9-
God wants to speak to you, we know that.
But what are you doing here.
1 Kings 19:11
God is going to speak to you this week.
God is speaking to you know.
But you will not hear him in a might rushing wind.
You will not hear him in a might earthquake.
You will not even hear him in a great fire.
But in a still small voice in the deepest part of your soul.
That part of your soul that is only for you and him.
There the Lord will speak to you.
There you will hear his voice but you have to listen.
You have to pay attention or you will miss that still small voice.
Conclusion:
Maybe God has already started speaking to you.
Camp is just getting started and you can already hear him.
Maybe this is the first time that you have heard him speaking directly to you.
What will you do?
Will you ignore his voice.
Will you speak back to him.
Will you start a relationship with him.
