MAIN QUESTION- Are you following the process God has for you?

Introduction - What we are studying?

We have been in our series titled “Now Go” which is all about our response to an encounter with Jesus…
Now Go and sin no more
Now Go and learn the scriptures
Tonight is Now Go and Walk It Out…
QUESTION- Have you ever skipped a step in something that made things harder for you in the future?
ILLUSTRATION- My first road trip I completely got lost.
QUESTION- Have you ever been in a position where you started to doubt the process???
MAIN POINT- God is all about process. Don’t try to skip his steps it will just end in your demise.
DEFINE- Process means a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.
QUESTION- How many would say that generally speaking you like process? How many would say that generally I hate the idea of a process?
Ask Why?

Scripture - What does the word say?

(NLT) — 40 A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. 41 Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” 42 Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. 43 Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning: 44 “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.” 45 But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
POINT- The mans question was all about Jesus’s ability not his timing.
KEY POINT- God’s timing has nothing to do with his ability. And your progress has nothing to do with his willingness.
POINT- Sometimes Jesus is willing, but he is also waiting.
(NLT) — 1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
QUESTION- Have there ever been seasons in your life when the process caused you to doubt his willingness?
KEY- The phrase, “Moved with compassion Jesus reached out his hand.” Describes the way in which Jesus proceeded not his motivation for performing the miracle.
I draw this out to make the point that Jesus does see you, he does know you...

Application - How does this apply to my life?

MAIN POINT- Those that go through God’s process will expereince things that others who do not go through process will expereince.

1. Process takes an outward change and makes it an inward change.

There are some of you in this room here tonight that want your inward change to be as fast as your outward change…
If you get a haircut you have an immediate outward change…
If you put on a new fresh outfit you have an immediate outward change…
If you go to camp and don’t wear sunscreen you have an immediate outward change…
KEY POINT- The inward change you want does not come overnight!
(NLT) — 42 Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.
(NLT) — 44 “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.” 45 But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened…
KEY- Leprosy throughout the bible represents sin.
KEY POINT- Outwardly the physical leprosy was gone, but inward the leprosy of sin was still creating havoc!
KEY- So many people in our churches will start the process, but not finish the process.

2. Process builds a testimony worth sharing.
