NOT IN MY HOUSE

John 2:13–22 ESV
The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But he was speaking about the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Passover
Jesus sees/notices what is morally or spiritually wrong even when society doesn’t
The gathering of the Saints for worship shouldn’t be about making money or trading for goods and services even in the name of worship for the Lord
The courts of the gentiles were to be used as a mission to allow the gentile the ability to worship Yahweh without violating the commandment/covenant.
Operating in the Spirit of the Lord you can accomplish what would be impossible in the natural or the flesh
Who are you to hold us accountable
People often will want to check you credentials for applying spiritual accountability especially in a religious setting.
The temple was antitype of Christ, both would eventually be destroyed the first would be reinstated to a greater glory, the second to a pile of rubble.
Belief doesn’t always happen right away, we sometimes have to have time to and look back over our life to have an increase of faith.
Seeing the power of scripture realized, Jesus fulfills prophesy Psalms 69:9
Several Fallen Condition Focus Issues
We can be tempted to use the tools of God, church, missional work as object for financial gain vs true means of ministry
When faced or challenged with correction or rebuke we shouldn’t make the truth about the messenger’s qualifications only the substance of the message
Seeing and believing biblical truth doesn’t always happen in the moment, in our imperfections we often need hindsight to see what was always in plain sight.
Ultimately Gods people should be people of prayer, and the places where they gather should be places of prayer for all nations.
Conclusion
Pray to see what is wrong in our houses that we may be able to self correct ourselves and properly worship God being a witness to all.
