Grace can well be called “God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense.” After we Christians have been in Heaven for ten billion years, we will have “no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.” We will sing God’s praises because of what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary, making possible the transformation of our hearts. Let us view “The Heart Transformed by Grace.”

I. Our heart by nature Are............

A. Our hearts are evil continually;

The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

B. It gathers iniquity; .

C. Our hearts are worth very little;

The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless.

20 The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless.

D. Our hearts are perverted;

A sensible person wins admiration, but a warped mind is despised.

E. Our hearts are proud;

The Lord detests the proud; they will surely be punished.

5The Lord detests the proud; they will surely be punished.

F. Our hearts are easily deceived;

The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask, “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?”

20The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask, “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?”

G. Our hearts are deceitful;

The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

9“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

WHEW, THATS THE BAD NEWS, NOW LET’S SEE WHAT THE GOOD NEWS IS..........THANK YOU LORD!

II. The heart by God’s grace.

A. When our hearts are broken;

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

17The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

B. When we desire our heart to be clean;

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.

10Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.

C. Look when our hearts are new!

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

26And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

D. Our heart will posses the love of God;

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

5And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

E. Our heart will posses the peace of God;

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

15And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

F. Our hearts will sing unto the Lord;

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

16Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

G. Our hearts will have the Lord Jesus dwelling in it;

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

17Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

AMEN

Amazing Grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed!
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed!
