C. Jesus Christ is the Person who can give lasting and enduring rest.
Other ways and means help but they are ineffective without the Person

The People
“All ye that labour and are heavy laden …” ().
A. Millions of people today are laden down with sin and guilt.
B. Many Christians are encumbered with doubts, worries, and the cares of life.
C. The “people, All of us” includes all who are heavy laden.
No one is excluded.
Jesus has compassion for every individual.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

The Promise
“And I will give you rest” ().
A. This promise means forgiveness, freedom from bondage and guilt, and rest from fear of death and eternal retribution.

It brings freedom from the cares and burdens of life, everything.

This promise assures us of future and eternal realities.
Complete and perfect rest awaits those who place their faith and trust in “The Person, Jesus Christ”
