Mark 10:45 NASB95
45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
says
Ransom mean this. That debt that you made Christ paid.
Ransom mean this. That debt that you made Christ paid. Jesus himself went to hell for you.
45"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Ransom mean this. That debt that you made Christ paid.
NASB955 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
Last week we talk about the resurrection and how Jesus step into out chaos and brought forth life and order..
NASB9515 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Jesus himself went to hell for you.
and certainly that is true Jesus himself went to hell for you.
Our text says He, the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Jesus tell them yes you need to pray to be forgiven but in that same manner pray that you can forgive
Notice the idea of giving..
naturally when we think of giving we often time think of money. why money? because it is the most common way that we assess value to a thing.
How much something is worth is valued by how much someone will give for said thing.
when we think of humans or of life money is an inadequate measure of evaluation
that why the practice of buying and selling humans is not only inhuman but illegal (in most place)
What are you saying Pastor D? im, saying that is you accumulated all the money in the world, it would still not equal the value of one human heart.
So, He didnt give silver, He didnt give gold, He didnt give cattle or oxen, He gave His Life for ransom.
1 Peter 1:18–19 NASB95
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
1 peter
We talked a bit last week about when adam and eve fell. one of the first things God did was kill as animal.
Genesis 3:21 NASB95
21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
He is sitting a decedent here.
Romans 6:23 NASB95
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
rom
the wages, the expence, the payment of price, for sin!! is death
and for something guilty to live, some innocent must die.
thats why it says we are redeemed with but precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
1timothy 2:5-6
something of value must be given… not just stuff.
Genesis 4:2–5 NASB95
2 Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground. 4 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; 5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.
gen 4:2
And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering
to regard is
1timothy 2:5-6
shaah (1043a); a prim. root; to gaze:—gaze away(1), had regard(1), had … regard(1), have regard(3), look(3), looked(1), pay … attention(1), turn your eyes(1), turn your gaze(2), turn your gaze away(1).
God paid attention to Abel offering
look at verse 10
Genesis 4:10 NASB95
10 He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground.

rev 5:8

15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
When i think of a random i think of someone being help again their will and they are totally reliant on someone else to do what they cannot.
a slave.
we read romans 6:23 earlier when it says the wages of sin are death… look at the previous verse
Romans 6:22 NASB95
22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
if one is freed from sin.. they must have been a slave to it.. how were they made free? glad you ask me.

46 “For the ransom of the 273 of the firstborn of the sons of Israel who are in excess beyond the Levites, 47 you shall take five shekels apiece, per head; you shall take them in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs),
You must forgive. When you big debt has been forgiven. Other debt to you should lose all comparisons. Let's finish here
a price has been set..
NASB9523 “For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. 24 “When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. 25 “But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. 26 “So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ 27 “And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. 28 “But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ 29 “So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’ 30 “But he was unwilling and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed. 31 “So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened. 32 “Then summoning him, his lord said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 ‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’ 34 “And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. 35 “My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”
15For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Other slave reported him to the king 32. He was called wicked 33. He was told he should have had mercy 34. He was given over to the torturers. 35. My father will do the same thing with you.
i said well.. thank you.
some of you have no idea how much you are worth.. so you are giving yourself away or selling yourself way too short..
