You are Never Too Old to Serve the Lord

Joshua 168x; 37x
Abraham was 75 when God first called him
Moses was 80 when God first called him
Simeon the elder who kept looking for God’s Messiah and Anna never left the temple, serving night and day with fasting and prayer

Don’t Wait to You are Old to Start Serving the Lord

Start with Honest Evaluation of Your Situation

The Lord told Joshua “You are old and advanced in years.”
Old = zaqen
Advanced in years = you have come among the days; “piled up life’s experiences” or made wise by the ups and downs of life

Focus on the Task at Hand

Much land remains to be possessed/inherited
Theology of Alottment-All tribes got something from the Lord (land; Levitical cities) Joseph’s tribe was split in two, named after his sons, and given two allocations (he suffered most and longest); Cities of Refuge ; Daughters of Zelophehad received an inheritance (otherwise easily overlooked)
