One of the greatest blessings we have received is the virtue of atonement.
When sins are so overwhelming it reaches to heaven,
It gets higher and higher, the sins are so heavy over us we get lower and lower.
But what is significant these verses here is this:
The psalmist acknowledges that God is the one who atones for the sins of mankind.
It is not man who makes the atonement.
Not even the high priest.
We are helpless.
We can’t defeat our sins.
We can’t escape from our sins.
It is God himself who atones for mankind.
We can run to God for refuge,
He hears our prayer for the forgiveness of sins.
