2. THE GOSPEL IN 4 Gs
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.—
ILLUSTRATION:
2Consider the sun as an analogy.
The sun only shines, just as God only loves.
It is the nature of the sun to shine, to offer warmth and light.
And it is the nature of God to love.
We are free to get away from the sun—we can lock ourselves in a dark room—but we do not keep the sun from shining just because we put ourselves in a place where it cannot reach us.
So it is with God’s love.
We can reject it, but God keeps on loving us.
No matter what our choices, God still loves.
And because God loves us, a relationship with God is possible.
1.
A GREAT NEED—MAN RUINED
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.—
2. A GRAND PROVISION—CHRIST UPLIFTED
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.—
3. A GENERAL INVITATION—NO EXCEPTIONS
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.—
4. A GLORIOUS ASSURANCE—NO DOUBTS
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.—
