The Resurrection

It is Easter Sunday. The day we celebrate the day that Jesus was risen from the dead.
More than Easter Eggs, and bunny rabbits.
But you can’t talk about the resurrection with out talking about the crucifixion.
Friday Night we watched the Passion of the Christ.

The Last Supper

(DiVinci Last Supper picture)
Luke
Luke 22:8 NASB95
And Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”

The Passover

Plagues of Egypt:
Water into blood
Frogs
Lice (Gnats)
Swarms of Flies
Sickness of Egyptian Livestock
Boils
Hail and fire
Locust
Darkness for three Days
Death of the first born.
Exodus 14:5–7 NASB95
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him; and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them.
Exodus 12:5–8 NASB95
‘Your lamb shall be an unblemished male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. ‘You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to kill it at twilight. ‘Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. ‘They shall eat the flesh that same night, roasted with fire, and they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
Exodus 14:
The Passover
Exodus 12:12–13 NASB95
‘For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the Lord. ‘The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12

Flat Earthers

(Flat Earth Map)
But their belief doesn’t call for any action.
If you believe the earth isn’t round, based on that belief you don’t have to change the way you live, ride, interact with people.
Contrast that with belief every firearm is loaded

1st Rule of Gun Safety

Treat every gun as if it is loaded.
To hold that belief it demand that you act a certain way when handling a firearm.
Yes, its hypocritical. But thats not the really bad part is it?
The bad part is you may shoot yourself or someone else.
Danny Stallings Story
Danny wasn’t worried about being called a hypocrite as much as he was worried about the blood gushing out of his hand.
These Jews in Egypt held a belief that God was who He said he was and would do what he said he would do.
That belief required some action.
It didn’t matter how well they had worshiped God or how bad they had failed in the past. It didn’t matter that they were God’s chosen people. It didn’t matter who their Father and Mother were. It didn’t matter how much they had helped the poor.
It didn’t even matter that they said that they believed God.
What mattered at that very moment was did they apply the blood?

Did they apply the blood?

calls Jesus the Lamb unblemished and spotless.
says about Jesus : For Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
when John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him in he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
Jesus was beaten, mocked, scourged, hung on a cross and killed as the sacrificial lamb so that if we will believe and apply the blood of Christ to the doorpost of our heart, that we might escape the Judgement of God that we rightly deserve.
It doesn’t matter if your parents were Christians, It doesn’t matter that you’ve gone to church your whole life. It doesn’t matter that you cook at rides or stand in front of the coolest people on the planet and preach about Jesus.
It doesn’t matter what you say you believe.
What will matter on the day of Judgement is have you applied the blood?

HAVE YOU APPLIED THE BLOOD?

I neither have the authority nor the inclination to judge weather someone has been saved.
Saint’s and Sinners have a patch that says, “Only God can Judge.”
When it comes to someones salvation, I agree completely.
But rest assured God Will Judge.
Weigh the good vs. the Bad.
The real question will be have your accepted Christ.
BUT DON’T FOOL YOURSELF
Matthew 7:23 NASB95
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
Matthew
Matthew 5:7 NASB95
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Matthew 7:22–23 NASB95
“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
But you can know.
1 John
1 John 5:13 NASB95
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
What he wrote was:
1 John 5:1–2 NASB95
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.
1 John 4:1–2 NASB95
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;
John 14:15 NASB95
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
John 14:23 NASB95
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
1 John 1–2 NASB95
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us— what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard. On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining. The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Have you applied the blood?

If you can answer yes then heres the good part.
Exodus 12:11 NASB95
‘Now you shall eat it in this manner: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste—it is the Lord’s Passover.
Exodus
See it is the application of the blood that saves us from judgement, but on the other side of the blood brings deliverance.
For the Jews in Egypt it was the to the promised land.
Which was a picture of what we receive through Christ which is eternal life.
Matthew 28:1–6 NASB95
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
We celebrate easter because through the cross, we have forgiveness of sin, and through the resurrection we have eternal life.
Colossians 3:1 NASB95
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
