My soul shall make its boast in the Lord, the Humble shall hear thereof and be glad
O Magnify the Lord with Me, and let us exalt his name together.
O Magnify the Lord with Me, and let us exalt his name together.
For the Lord is Good and Worthy to be praised.
For the Lord is Good and Worthy to be praised.
Oh taste and See that the Lord is good , blessed are they that put their trust in him.
Oh taste and See that the Lord is good , blessed are they that put their trust in him.
Isiah 53rd Chapter
Isiah 53rd Chapter
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Title: Revisting Calvary.
Prayer:
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
It's been almost 19 years since teenagers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 15 people — including themselves — at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Since then, the Columbine High School massacre has been remembered as one of the most infamous school shootings in U.S. history, and it has even been blamed for inspiring more recent shootings at other schools. The country had seen nothing like it. It was the unthinkable at the time, that something of that nature could ever appear. For weeks there was wall to wall coverage of the shootings, we learned the names of the victims. Documentaries were made. Congressional hearing were had. Blame was passed around From everything from violent videogames to music made by Maryln Manson. It seemed like for a whole year the country was focused on Colubine Highschool. If you are old enough you will remember the coverage. This occurence was new, it had never been seen before. And it had a deep effect. But now if we are honest these Mass shooting that take place do not affect the way they used. They happen at such a frequency that we lose track of the names of the schools, cities we lose track of the venues. We need read morning New Paper and we are no longer shocked. The truth of the matter is we have become desentisized. These shootings happen so often now, that they are now normal. We are less sensitive to there occurence, and some now are indifferent. It seems like we are no longer touched, with the feeliings of what our fellow countrymen go through. But as unhealthy as this is to be numb towards these shooting, I suggest that there is a numbness, that is worse than this. There is an indifference that is tragic It is customary at this time of year to focus on Death, Burial And Ressurection of Jesus Christ. It customary for Sermons feature these themes. For many of us, the fact that Jesus gave died that we might live, and that he rose again, has over and over and over again. Many know the story, they know the events. Children Sing songs about how Jesus gave his life for us. But do we really take it in. Does Calvary hit us and effect the way it should. Are our hearts moved in the way that they should be moved, when Our Lord Savior Jesus opened the way for us to be saved. Do we think about it his sacrfice in our day, do think about his sacrifice when we are at work, is what he did for us on our minds as we go through our daily routine.. Do we think about w do we at heart level understand the depth of love that was poured. Do we truly fathom , the Words of the Old Testament Prophet Isiah when declares through inspiration about our Savior For he was wounded for our Transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquites. Have we allowed ourselves to become desensitived to Calvary. Are we moved anymore.
I submit that when we have lost touch with what Our Lord and savior has done for us. When it is no longer upon the for front of out thoughts, when we are no longer deeply moved, I suggest It is time to revisit, and have a fresh encoutner with What Jesus has done for us. For it is not enough to go with the Slogans it is not enough , it is not enough to hear about it in a brush by fashion. We need to experience Calvary again in 2018. We need experience Jesus, beyong the bumper stickers, Beyond the superficial. We have to let it sink in again. We need to allow it, to Mold our hearts and give a fresh depiction of who God is. We need to a clear fresh view of his cross. To rekindle our love for him. God forbid we forget For he has done to much, given to much to for us to lose touch with what he has done. d
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
So I say to you today, Behold the Man

(Better Transition Perhaps)
It starts in A Garden,

It was in a Garden That a battle Raged for the fate of man.
It was in a Garden , When a Conflict with a Snake brought ruin
I submit that when we have lost touch with what Our Lord and savior has done for us. When it is no longer upon the for front of out thoughts, when we are no longer deeply moved, I suggest It is time to revisit, and have a fresh encoutner with What Jesus has done for us. It was in A Garden, when Man fell into sin.
So I say to you today, Behold the Man
It was in A Garden,
(Better Transition Perhaps)
It starts in A Garden,
And it was in A Garden Where Jesus, began to his walk to the Cross.
It was in a Garden That a battle Raged for the fate of man.
All he had ever known was the Warm embrace of his father, All he ever known was the sweet communion him, as he spoke with him in the early ours of the day, where he communed with him on the moutain tops, where he would esape for Secret Prayer. For all Eternity had been in communion with his Father, but now he felt something was beginning to come between
It was in a Garden , When a Conflict with a Snake brought ruin
Jesus was becoming the sin bearer, all the sins of the world starting to weigh upon. All the Sins from Adam to last man, were being placed upon the Son of God. He felt their weight upon him.
It was in A Garden, when Man fell into sin.
Every sin that everyone has ever committed was being put on Jesus.
It was in A Garden,
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
And it was in A Garden Where Jesus, began to his walk to the Cross.
Matthews 26
All he had ever known was the Warm embrace of his father, All he ever known was the sweet communion him, as he spoke with him in the early ours of the day, where he communed with him on the moutain tops, where he would esape for Secret Prayer. For all Eternity had been in communion with his Father, but now he felt something was beginning to come between
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
Jesus was becoming the sin bearer, all the sins of the world starting to weigh upon. All the Sins from Adam to last man, were being placed upon the Son of God. He felt their weight upon him.
Every sin that everyone has ever committed was being put on Jesus.
Jesus went a little furthur away from them and fell upon his knees and began to pray.
O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Matthews 26
And he went back to his disciples and found them sleeping, in the early morning he could find
no comfort from them.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
And he went back to pray
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
Jesus went a little furthur away from them and fell upon his knees and began to pray.
Luke tell us
O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt
That his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground
And he went back to his disciples and found them sleeping, in the early morning he could find
And with more emotion
O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
no comfort from them.
He prayed this prayer a 3rd time.
And he went back to pray
Luke tell us
We understand that there was no other way. That he had to drink this cup.
That his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground
Key Point
And it brings out the point to us today that sometimes God says no.
And with more emotion
O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
We ask for what we want, but sometimes the answer is no.
He prayed this prayer a 3rd time.
Sometimes brothers and sisters The cup will not be removed
Sometimes, we have to go through the storm
We understand that there was no other way. That he had to drink this cup.
Key Point
Sometimes we have to face the mountain.
Somtimes we have to trust , even when you can’t understand him.
And it brings out the point to us today that sometimes God says no.
We ask for what we want, but sometimes the answer is no.
We must Trust that there is some purpose that work that is beyond our intellegence to comprehend.
Paul For we know in Part. There are certain things, we will never understand this side of Eternity, but all we can do is trust him.
Sometimes brothers and sisters The cup will not be removed
Sometimes, we have to go through the storm
But there is some good news when, for the Bible tells us in the book of Luke, that after Jesus understood that there was not other way and he would have to die,
Gospel of Lukes 22:43
Sometimes we have to face the mountain.
Somtimes we have to trust , even when you can’t understand him.
The Says
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
We must Trust that there is some purpose that work that is beyond our intellegence to comprehend.
Paul For we know in Part. There are certain things, we will never understand this side of Eternity, but all we can do is trust him.
Jesus was Strengthened.
But there is some good news when, for the Bible tells us in the book of Luke, that after Jesus understood that there was not other way and he would have to die,
And I need you understand Child God that when God says no,
If you don’t get the job you wanted.
Gospel of Lukes 22:43
The Says
When the diagnosis isn’t the best.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
he is going to give you strength to endure.
Jesus was Strengthened.
He is going stregnthen you.
He is going to make you strong.
And I need you understand Child God that when God says no,
If you don’t get the job you wanted.
He is going to make you able.
For He will never set you on path that he will not equip you to walk.
When the diagnosis isn’t the best.
he is going to give you strength to endure.
And I don’t about you, but I am greatful, That if God is going to allow me to experience difficulty
Then he is able to give me toughtness to withstand it.
He is going stregnthen you.
He is going to make you strong.
Maybe that Why David Said.
He is going to make you able.
121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
For He will never set you on path that he will not equip you to walk.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
And I don’t about you, but I am greatful, That if God is going to allow me to experience difficulty
Then he is able to give me toughtness to withstand it.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Maybe that Why David Said.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Somebody Give him Praise that we serve God that gives empower us
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
And I believe that I have some witnesses this morning, that have felt that strength of God.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Hold them up, when they didn’t think they could make it
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
Hold them up, when it seemed impossible
Hold Them up , When folk Counted them out.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
Somebody Give him Praise that we serve God that gives empower us
Hold them up
why Because the bible Says
And I believe that I have some witnesses this morning, that have felt that strength of God.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Hold them up, when they didn’t think they could make it
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Hold them up, when it seemed impossible
Hold Them up , When folk Counted them out.
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Hold them up
Some Body Praise him.
Jesus was Strengthend
why Because the bible Says
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
The Cross was where he gave his life, But the Battle was won in the Garden
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
The Bible says that shortly after this Judas came came charging in with soldiers with weapons, bent on apprehending and taking Jesus. Judas the man that had been with him for 3 years was his betrayed him with a kiss. T
And when the soldiers stepped in to take Jesus, Peter wasn’t having it. He took out his sword,
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Jesus Said put up your sword away Peter
Some Body Praise him.
Chapter he said.
Jesus was Strengthend
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
The Cross was where he gave his life, But the Battle was won in the Garden
Its recorded that one angel killed 185000 ment
The Bible says that shortly after this Judas came came charging in with soldiers with weapons, bent on apprehending and taking Jesus. Judas the man that had been with him for 3 years was his betrayed him with a kiss. T
And when the soldiers stepped in to take Jesus, Peter wasn’t having it. He took out his sword,
72,000 angels.
Jesus Said put up your sword away Peter
As I was reading through the text I realize that
at anypoint Jesus Could have escaped
Chapter he said.
at anytime could have called for heavenly aid
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Which
Its recorded that one angel killed 185000 ment
He could have escaped when Judas Brought the soldiers to take while he was in the Garden.
72,000 angels.
He could have escaped When they took him before Sanhedrin and pronounced him Guilty
As I was reading through the text I realize that
at anypoint Jesus Could have escaped
He could have escaped They spit on his face, blind foled him, punch him the face, and then told him to prophecy who hit him.
at anytime could have called for heavenly aid
He could have escaped when Pilates soldiers beat him, with whipps that sharp pieces of metal on the ends of them opening his flesh
He could have escaped, when they sliced his head , Lacertated his brow with th razor sharp Crown of thorns,
Which
He could have escaped when Judas Brought the soldiers to take while he was in the Garden.
He could have escaped when the Roman Soldiers put a Purple robe around his mangled body and mocked him saying “Hail King of Jews” as they beat him over the head, with a peice of wood.
He could have escaped when they took his hands and feet and Nailed them to the cross.
He could have escaped When they took him before Sanhedrin and pronounced him Guilty
But he didn’t call for those Angels, he didn’t exert Super Human strength but rather
He could have escaped They spit on his face, blind foled him, punch him the face, and then told him to prophecy who hit him.
Christ chose to go through torture for you and I.
He could have escaped when Pilates soldiers beat him, with whipps that sharp pieces of metal on the ends of them opening his flesh
He could have escaped, when they sliced his head , Lacertated his brow with th razor sharp Crown of thorns,
He chose to endure what he was going through.
He could have escaped when the Roman Soldiers put a Purple robe around his mangled body and mocked him saying “Hail King of Jews” as they beat him over the head, with a peice of wood.
And he did so you could be saved.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
He could have escaped when they took his hands and feet and Nailed them to the cross.
Sometime however in our lives, things can happen to us that make us doubt Gods intentions towards us
But he didn’t call for those Angels, he didn’t exert Super Human strength but rather
Christ chose to go through torture for you and I.
Scenarios may arise That make us question things about His Character.
He chose to endure what he was going through.
Event may transpire that on the surface may seem to suggest that he doesn’t care about you.
But when these occur you Must look to The cross.
And he did so you could be saved.
For the Cross reveals he cares.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
For the Cross shows his intentions towards you.
Sometime however in our lives, things can happen to us that make us doubt Gods intentions towards us
Can you doubt the intentions of God towards today you , when he chose to endure the beating, He chose to endure the insults. He was bruised, and cut so and you could be saved.
Scenarios may arise That make us question things about His Character.
When you are unsure of how God feels about you look to the cross.
Event may transpire that on the surface may seem to suggest that he doesn’t care about you.
The Cross is a symbol of his Love for you.
But when these occur you Must look to The cross.
For the Cross reveals he cares.
Thus Saith the Lord
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,.....
For the Cross shows his intentions towards you.
Can you doubt the intentions of God towards today you , when he chose to endure the beating, He chose to endure the insults. He was bruised, and cut so and you could be saved.
You can’t feel unloved by him when you look to the cross.
Are you confused this morning about his Character, are you unsure?
When you are unsure of how God feels about you look to the cross.
Then look to the Cross.
The Cross is a symbol of his Love for you.
How do look to the Crosss Read THe portions in the Gospels dealing Calvary.
Thus Saith the Lord
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,.....
You can’t feel unloved by him when you look to the cross.
Are you confused this morning about his Character, are you unsure?
John
Then look to the Cross.
When you are unsure of how God feels about you look at the cross.
For hymnologist that wrote.
At the Cross at the Cross where I first saw the light and the burdens of my Heart rolled away it was there by Faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day.
For hymnologist that wrote.
The Bible says
At the Cross at the Cross where I first saw the light and the burdens of my Heart rolled away it was there by Faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day.
The Bible says in Mathew 27:
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
35. And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Our Lord was Nailed to the Cross. He never commited a crime.
Sharp Nails doing irreparable damage to his hands and his feet.
Crucifiction was a painful death
Crucifixion was usually intended to provide a death that was particularly slow, painful (hence the term excruciating, literally "out of crucifying"), gruesome, humiliating, and public.
Breathing on a cross was quite diffictult. You could breathe in, but in order to allow the air to get out. You would have to work hard to get the air out of your lungs.
You’d have to pull or push your body up in order to expel air. This would put pressure on nails in your feet and in his hands.
As the Son of God lay there in pain and slowing dying there was little sympathy Given by the crowd.
The roman Soldiers were betting on his belongings.
The bible says that they were railing on him.
36 And sitting down they watched him there;
39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 And saying, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
If thou be the Son of God, with satan through Demon possesed men aiming his sharpest darts At Christ.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
We know the story of the thief on the cross giving his life to the lord, But this happen later,
The Bible says in vs 44
44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
And I am reflectiing on the crucifiction. It dawned upon me, that while they were mocking, while they comepletely devoided of empathy, while they were gambiling for his belongings Jesus was dying so that they might be saved.
In the midst of their sin, Christ was dying for them. In the midst of their rebuke, while they were offering no comfort he was giving his life so they could be saved.
It brough to my mind the vese
Romans
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus didnt go to the cross because we were worthy
Jesus went to cross to make us worthy.
While we were yet sinners Christ Died for us.
When you were continualling living sin,
When you are doing wrong.
You died for you when you stealing -
He for you when you were hoeing
When you were neglecting him He died.
He didnt die for you when you were at your best, He thought you worth it when you are at your worst.
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
When you make your Mistakes in life, don’t stay away from him.
When you missed the Mark, don’t stay away from him.
I am dirty, haven’t been living, I won’t approach his throne.
We don’t clean ourselves up to Go to Jesus, We go to Jesus to get cleaned up
Come to him and he will clean you up.
He can handle your mess,
Christ Died for sinners
God died for people who were cursing him.
you can never be so low that you can’t come to him.
And thats why that Theif on the Cross even though had had been speaking against him, after a few hours he knew there was something different about this man, and despite the fact, that he was just talking , he repented and shouted to Jesus,
Lord when you come into your Kingdom.
And in that Moment Christ accepted him.
Ah Brothers and Sisters at your Worst, he thought you were worth Saving.
He thought you were worth keeping
He thought you were to die for.
So, He sacrificed his life
We you can be free,
So you can be whole.
You can be saved.
Is there anyone here, happy about the fact God thought you were worth it.
Worth it with all your Mess
Worth it with all your broken promises
Worth it with your past mistakes
Worth it with your character falws
He can save us
He is able to save to the uttermost anyone that comes to him.
And the REason Why he is able to save, Because he is Alive.
For I serve A risen savior he is in the world Today,
I know that he is living whatever Man may say.
I see his hand of mercy
I hearI I hear His voice of cheer;
And just the time I need Him
He’s always near.
He lives,
He lives Christ Jesus lives today.
For the bible says
For they put him in the tomb on A Friday
He Rested on Sabbath.
But early Sunday The bible He got up!!!
The stone that was infront of his tomb couldn’t keep him in the Grave.
The Romans Soldiers coudn’t keep him in the Grave
The Demons that were stationed at tomb couldn’t keep in the Grave
Death itslef couldn’t keep him in the Grave.
He got up, He got up and because he got up he give to us ressurection Power.
For the bible says
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Oh yes, that is why I know we can make it,
We just need to recieve his Spirit.
Stop believing that you can’t make it
For the Bible says
he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Because he lives !!! I can face tomorrow
Because he lives!!! My sins can be forgiven.
Because he lives, I got a friend that sticks closer then a brother.
Because he lives, I have a high Priest that can be touched with the feelings of my infirmties.
Because he lives, I’m not afraid Trump Does.
Because I know he holds the future life is worth the living just because he lives.
Appeal - We must never lose sight of has done for us. We must think of it more, He gives the gift of eternal life, and that was only possible through Death and His Ressurection. You have to let it sink what he did.
I calling to think more often on What he has done for you
Let me be specific,
I am asking you to Revisit Calvary in Scirpture if you are willing to that come up.
You know the story, but you want to read about, it and meditated on what Jesus did for you in his word come forward.
2nd Appeal - When Jesus Rose the Grave with Power, he gave us access to the same Power through his Holy spirit, the Power to help you live a Godly life.
And if you are saying you need more of his Spirit Invite you to come down.
3rd Appeal - Jesus came and gave his life for you, and he gives to us the gift of salvation.
And i am wondering if there is anyone here that has received that gift through Baptism.
In baptism you are giving him your heart.
