Why study this topic?

Dr. Steven Lawson put it this way, “High views of God lead to high & holy living”.

You see our view of God and who he is will shape our thoughts and ultimately our actions.

A friend of mine from Oregon posted a question on Facebook, “Does life have meaning and purpose and is it sacred?”

As I thought about that I thought about our study of Who God Is.

You see how we answer who God is will determine how we answer my friend’s question?

We are going to continue to look at who God says he is?

We cannot fully look at this.

Tonight is only a high over arching view.

Godly men have written at length on this.

There is videos on YouTube, articles on the internet, but most importantly the Bible that is the word of God.

It is in these pages He has revealed Himself.

My goal the past two weeks and tonight is that you leave here desiring to intimately know the God who intimately knows you!

God Exists

He is Self-Existent (I AM WHO I AM) -

He is eternal -

He is present -

He does not Change - (Immutable)

He is Spirit - (Incorporeal, Not Man)

God is Creator

He is Sovereign -

He is distinct - (Transcendent)

God is a Trinity

He exists in 3 persons -

He is in Perfect Unity

He is Love

He is in Perfect Counsel/Relationship

God is All Powerful

Omnipresent (Outside time and space) -

He cannot go against his nature (cease to exist, make a rock so big he can’t lift it (Contradictions), Sin (lie, tempt or be tempted.)

God is Morally Perfect
