Giving Jesus All That You Have

(Matthew records) John had just been beheaded by Herod.
(Mark adds on) That Jesus’ disciples are returning from being sent out to evangelize and he is instructing them to take time to rest away from the crowds because they didn’t even have a chance to eat. However, the crowd was not going to let that happen but followed and even beat them to the desert place.
(Luke records) How Herod was hearing about Jesus and double checking his records because he knew he had killed John. So he begin to ask, “ who is this?”
(John adds on ) It’s around the time that a lot of people are traveling to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast and this could possibly explain one reason for the high number of people especially men because...

The Miracle
John 6
John 6:1–14 NASB95
1 After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias). 2 A large crowd followed Him, because they saw the signs which He was performing on those who were sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat down with His disciples. 4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. 5 Therefore Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?” 6 This He was saying to test him, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do. 7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little.” 8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted. 12 When they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost.” 13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. 14 Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Take-Aways
Why Philip? He was from the area () Philip’s question to answer, but he was supposed to know because he was with Jesus. What impossible thing does God want to do through you?
Be like Andrew, not like Philip.
industrious
add faith in God to your industry
remember your little (all that you have) is just the right amount of ingredient for God’s greatness( all that he has) to show forth through you.
the little boy’s willingness to give (emphasizes this principle)
the little boy’s lunch 2 sardine size fish, and 5 loaves of bread Sardines are small, silvery, elongated fishes with a single short dorsal fin, no lateral line, and no scales on the head. They range in length from about 15 to 30 cm (6 to 12 inches) and live in dense schools, migrating along the coast and feeding on plankton, of which they consume vast quantities. https://www.britannica.com/animal/sardine (emphasizes this)
Don’t doubt for 1 moment, that God doesn’t already have a plan. But learn how he reveals where your faith stands
In Practicality?
In self?
In another?
In earthly methods?
In your own resources? It didn’t matter that they were in a desert place.
Or is your faith on miracle status because you know the miracle worker? Put your faith on miracle status and give Jesus all that you have. Use what you find around you to do the impossible for Jesus as he shows you.
God doesn’t waste anything
He provided for the crowd and the disciples (the 12 hand baskets) one for each of the disciples
God doesn’t waste one moment as we walk through our tests and trials.
Every knew piece of information, every report, every tear, he sees, he knows ()
Because he doesn’t waste, we can’t waste time or emotion
on things we cannot control, but keep giving it to God
on trying to fix people, but believe God for their healing and deliverance and do only what God assigned you to do for them and assigned you to say to them.
Closing
Believe God for the big things, that don’t make sense and are way beyond what you could possibly do.
Don’t take any moment for granted with God, nothing gets wasted. Don’t just look for the moments where God does it FOR you, see him when he does it THROUGH you.
He’s got his eye on you as he is guiding you through your tests ()
Remember we just don’t serve the God that can make “some” thing out of your life. We serve the God that can make “every” thing out of “no” thing existing, but his very Words!
